Wildcats injury woes continue - Jameel McKay

"The Perth Wildcats' injury crisis shows no sign of abating after import Jameel McKay was today forced from the training court with a shoulder injury.

The US centre appeared to get his right arm caught and forced backwards during scrimmage and immediately called for assistance.

He left the court for assessment and has been ruled out for the rest of the session."

The article also mention that Knight did not train with the team but has done some running and shooting by himself on a separate court.

Hopefully McKay is ok but seriously whats with all the injuries this season?!

Every club cops these kind of injuries all the time. It seems like the wildcats are the only ones who make a point of telling everyone about them. Maybe they would get some sympathy if more than 10% of them turned out to be more than just a missed training session or two. They seem desperate for excuses lately.

There's some truth in both sides.
Its good to be kept informed, and to know why a player might miss a game. But yes, it can lead to a lot of premature worry. Have to wait and see how serious this is.

So the article says he is out for the season, jumping the gun a bit there.

Dazz maybe he is faking, taking a payout and they will replace him with someone better? You'd be ok with that right? cats copping it big time right now, its great too see the losing, but never good for players getting injured. I really like how active this guy is around the rim, wish him well in a speedy recovery.

Only reason to claim a "season ending injury" is to re-sign a player who had previously been on the list this season. So you're a step ahead. They need to "de-activate" him, sign a replacement "2-point" specialist, THEN fake an injury when he turns out to be a [insert rabid allegation here] so they can "re-activate" McKay.

As for "replacing him with someone better," that's a hard call.
Unless a Brock Motum decides to come home from Europe, our only chance of signing a "better player" is to replace an import. Obviously won't be Prather, and we already look like fuckwits for the mis-handling of JJ.
I'd love for us to improve our roster, but at the same time McKay is steadily improving and I have hope he'll continue and finish strongly.

The only faker is Knight who should be back this round coming up or the next if he's true to form.I hope Mckay is ok cause he's a very average player.

No.
Jameel's 125.3 ORTG is top 5, 103.8 DRTG is top 6 and he has a +21.4 net rating, which places 4th overall amongst ALL players. He leads the league in offensive rebounding percentage, blocks per game and blocks percentage. He is top 10 in a number of categories.

As a club overall, Perth has been outscored and is utterly average: a 107.2 ORTG and 107.8 DRTG, indicative of a 6-6 record to date.

Simply put, Perth is quite clearly a much better team, offensively and defensively, with Jameel on the court.

Good stuff Kobe.

I might be in the minority but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel fit the wildcats. McKay and Johnson played well and it might've clicked for them. Remember they are both inexperienced guys who might take some time to get to the required level.

That Adelaide game appeared to be a turning point and Perth could have a very strong second half of the season with Martin to return too

Perth are 10 points better off this season with McKay on the bench. His +/- suggests he hasn't been a big factor either way. The rating stats for McKay are a case for how limited those stats can be.

McKay can look a little lost offensively at times, but this is compensated greatly with his defence and energy. It doesn't look like Perth run many, if any, offensive sets for him and there are times when he is benched for long periods which stumps me. I agree with Kobe, he is a much better player than what people think he is.

Who writes 'has been ruled out for the rest of the session'!?!?

Did not return to training?
Unable to continue training?

This was written to panic fans. Shit journalism.

Its very drama driven wording, its very Perth. Dazz would've had a fit. How he hasn't written 3 separate threads on here discussing the cats options is beyond me.
