Australia's women have beaten Russia to win bronze at the world uni games in Turkey, Jenni Screen 30pts Cherie Smith and Rachael Flanagan both in the team

Lets hope these girls focus on whats important, the world champ qualifiers. representing the australian uni system is one thing, representing the entire country is another!

i think that would still be fairly important to the girls in the team. dont play down the performance.

I don't think you will find that there are many people in this team who are likely to have to worry about Aussie representation other than for the WUG team. The standard would be about WNBL standard, which is quite good, but there would be very few girls in the team in contention for an Australin berth.
Its a great opportunity for people who are just out of reach of Australian senior teams to be able to represent their country, and take a step up to playing at international level, in a major world tournament.
It has been rated by people in various sports as a tougher competition than the commonwealth games.
