Wildcats 3P%... Andre Who?

It will certainly go down as one of the more bizarre chapters.

I cannot recall the last time the Cats had it so good from beyond the arc?
JJ is now 13 from 24.
DKD, after settling in is 7 from 17, (~70% last 3 games)
Kenny was 3 from 5, and even Martin 3 from 9.
Prather has been less accurate, but still managed 6 from 22.

Last season we were heavily reliant on Beal, but he was more of a volume shooter.

2013/14 was a good year, with Beal, Ennis, Martin & Wagstaff all shooting well from outside. but the last couple have been a little lean.
Remains to be seen if we can top 13/14, but regardless JJ & DD are proving to be very handy.
(Which just makes the whole Ingram shemozzle even more bizarre.)

The whole deactivating of JJ so they could trial Ingram and then giving him the release required to allow them to re-actiavte JJ was probably the weirdest most unprofessional thing the Wildcats have ever done.

Something like that would've been expected from the Kings/United or the Seamus McPeake era Tigers not the Wildcats.

Yes that was next level dodgy

Zodiac....you ASSUMED the saga was an Ingram trial.

It could actually be Ingram needing to go home for MH reasons.

Still not sure JJ is the right fit. Do not deny he is shooting a decent clip at the moment but he doesn't attack the rim off the dribble like Beal did for the Cats. Really the only player that does this now is Prather which becomes predictable. At least when Ennis played it freed up a lot of space and took the focus away from Beal which helped him excel.

What makes it all the weirder (with the benefit of hindsight) is that we are now shooting the 3's far better than the last couple of years. So why bring in a specialist?

It was pretty evident on Saturday, that JJ is really committed to proving himself in the SG role.
Softer Adelaide D probably help, but he was still knocking em down.

This is true.
He still looks too fumble-prone when he tries to attack off the dribble.

Highly unlikely as they had already de-activated JJ and not released him and the only way they could re-activate him if Ingram didn't work out was to release him with a season ending injury or illness.

It's the wording 'De-activated' that makes it suspect.
I've never seen an import dismissal called a de-activation before. So, for him to be back with the club within a week, really does paint the picture that he was always a fair possibility of returning.

Interestingly, I heard the other day that Ingram was in fact released for a serious off-court indiscretion.

Mind you, I heard this from someone who heard this from someone else, and while the someone else did establish a believable sequence that would lead to their possession of the information, I can't speak to their credibility.

But Johnson is the more bizarre aspect of it anyway, given he's proven to be a good shooter. But with Damo now out for most of the season, he's probably back in the firing line.

Ingram being fired for serious off court indiscretion sounds fake to me. How much trouble could you get up to in one week where you've got two games?

with the Wildcats tough approach to drugs, it wouldn't be hard. Especially if someone is from a country where its accepted to smoke cannabis to assist with mental health.

End of the day, JJ is delivering from beyond the arc, which is what we supposedly wanted Ingram to do.

Martin isn't really an offensive loss.

Exactly, Damo is a quality playmaker and offensive rebounder.

True, I was only thinking in the context of this thread, regarding 3 point shooting. He's actually been good, but doesn't jack up a lot of 3's.

Martin's a HUGE loss, we just don't need to replace his scoring.
