According to sources from within Melbourne United, the NBL powerhouse has made an offer to good for Jackson to refuse and he will soon be announced as the team's new starting point guard.

Jackson will become part of what might be the best back court in the league as it’s expected Melbourne will also announce it has re-signed Stephen Holt to tandem with the 29 year old Jackson under the leagues new Asian player rule.

He was close to becoming a NZ citizen so this news is a bit of a surprise.

Ill probably be called crazy, but i wanted the 6ers to explore getting Ced Jackson out of NZ, even if it meant no Randle, as i reckon Ced Jackson gives you more of a chance at a title than Randle does.

Well done to Melbourne, an amazing signing, Ced is this generations D-Mac, GF appearances most years

Melbourne look like they are trying to have a starting line up of

Jackson
Holt
Goulding
Blanchfield
Jawai

WOW if they get that together and they all click together on the court

Ced would be the leading rebounder out of that five!

They still may also be able to add 2 imports, could get a couple of bigs to help with the rebounding and Majok if he returns

Granted Perth has not made any moves just yet, but that team on paper will be right up there with the Cats

His mum is Filipino but does he have to have a Filipino passport?

I'm pretty sure the Philippines could have a passport ready for him in about 0.05 seconds.

Hold up, are we getting excited about Blanchfield playing the 4 spot?

They'd be better with majok at the 4 and have Blanche as sixth man

Trust United to exploit a loophole in the Asian player rule, considering their owner was part of it's implementation

The fact Blanchfield and 6th man were used in the same sentence shows how much United are just the 'throw money at talent and hope it works' club. Never mind chemistry or trying to fit pieces into the puzzle, Blanchfield 6th man what a joke. His agent needs to work a miracle and get him out of that contract and back to the Crocs or anywhere else his game will actually be appreciated. One year after being an NBL 2nd team selection and being talked up as a future Boomer we have now resorted to him being a 6th man.. well played United.

Can't help but think there is something off with that club in general. Unless Bullets threw Kickert an insane amount of money, like 200k +, why is a Vic boy like Kickert leaving town?

Oh, and as for Jackson... Well he certainly wasn't going back to the Breakers lol. Gaze even eludes to the 'adversity' Vickerman had to overcome as coach last year in his Q&A. Pretty class act by the Breakers really that this story has been kept under control and is only a murmur, rather than turn into a Wayne Carey-like circus.

Extra imports and rules to allow Americans play as yet another import. Yeah this is awesome for Australian basketball.

I don't see a loophole being exploited. If a player's eligible under the rule, it's not a loophole. This argument was done to death when Earnest Ross and Tai Wesley joined the league under the Oceania player rule, which was in place before Kestleman took over the league.

Is he confirmed staying at United?

Be a real shame to lose Ced. I guess NZ have faith in their ability to recruit another high quality import that will compliment their other pieces. He'll have big boots to fill and hopefully he isn't a midget
