SEQ Stars to play out season without Heal

SEQ Stars found funding to see out the season, but it was contingent on Heal not being there. Ouch.

Goriss to assist as coach.

Basketball Australia has appointed Centre of Excellence Coach Paul Goriss to assist SEQ Stars for the remainder of the 2015/2016 Wattle Valley WNBL season.

Goriss is an experienced coach, having been involved with coaching junior national teams and is currently an Associate Coach at the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence.

Goriss joins Megan Thompson to support the SEQ Stars in their game tonight in Adelaide vs The Lightning and then on Saturday vs Perth Lynx.

I certainly will not be making any jokes about the demise, due to insolvency, of the Stars, who are chaired by a director at Insolvency Guardian, a company that Stars coach, Shane Heal, was "wary of for a long time" after reading allegations on the internet. Nor will I be making any jokes about the situation that Shane Heal found himself in ... or rather, out of ... after this week's events. And I certainly won't be joking about Heal appearing front & centre on the Insolvency Guardian website.
Yikes.

Congrats to the Stars for finding a way to win tonight.
I reckon they'll give the Lynx all they can handle tomorrow night as well. Spewing I can't be there to support both teams.
