Anyone else make it down to the Red Bull Reign 3 on 3 national finals in Melbourne yesterday?
Sensational event. I imagine Red Bull would have easily spent 40k on the day factoring the prize money, hotels/flights for interstate teams, catering, setup etc.
Throw in the qualifier events they held in Perth, Sydney and Brisbane and it's pretty amazing what they put together.
Great that red bull put money into this but not the best format with teams able to advance to the next stage on points scored instead of wins.

News to me, never read or heard anything about this privately run show, sorry to say. I hope it was an awesome event though...

Pretty awesome event yes but agreed, the 'most points scored' format in the first two rounds was definitely flawed and a few very legit teams were penalised by that.

I don't think they lined any media up after that. We took out the $6,000 prize in the final and I wrote something up on the melbourne uni website about it:

Apparently next year the winners will get flights and an invite to the world championship finals. Pretty amazing.
