Interesting read about Foxtel acquiring 15% of Network 10.
Wonder what it could possibly mean for the NBL and sport in general.

It will mean nothing for the NBL. The NBL is on Fox and Go, and thats the way it will stay for the forseeable future.

Can't see Foxtel diluting their content like that. I think sport is the only think Fox has going for it now so I can't imagine they'd give people anymore reason to watch FTA. At best the one Sunday arvo game currently on 9 may move there next season.

Yeah board members of foxtel and channel 10 overlapping a couple years ago is what caused the Channel 10 deal to get progressively worse instead of better during its contract.
I dont know why you would have foxtel if not for the sports with netflix and the like available now.
Fox being involved with Ch10 is to reduce sport on FTA to aid Fox Sports. Remember when One launched it had NBA, NCAA, many other sports. Once Fox got involved the channel was diluted to a general entertainment rubbish station.

It would mean bigger prime time sports coming to Ten like summer of cricket, Australian Open tennis, A League, AFL and NRL. Even though A League, AFL and NRL is sealed there is nothing stopping Ten from acquiring those as early as next year. As well as shows like Gogglebox where by Fox airs it exclusively on the first night and Ten on the second right. Plus a Ten News Channel
It could be but we'll have to wait and see if NBL returns to 10
