And all the other former albury coaches had such good records..... Stop blaming the coaches 11 coaches in 10 seasons.....it's not the coaches who are the problem in albury.

Amazing that some people anonymously can sit all day and write negative comments about a coach on a forum. Few sports seem to have as many haters as basketball. Why is that ?

I know Andy Sherwell although wouldn't say we were besties, but if he did apply, I'm glad he missed out. He's one of the good guys in basketball

Unfortunate development for a program trying to rebuild. A Coach who can't communicate.

They just seem to lurch (or speed recklessly) from one crash scene to the next.

Albury are worse for having him, he was a dud at Dandenong and made a mess at Nunawading.

Honestly, do people not conduct due diligence anymore ?

Interesting to see the frankston facebook post making this announcement has been deleted over night.

I looked at the post early on and there were a few critical comments of the situation/ announcement. Nothing personal to mike brookens, but what appeared to be lingering frustration with the way steve matthews has been treated and with comments made in the press release.

Surely if you are going to use social media you have to be willing to let people have their say (within reason obviously).

Very interesting, appears to becoming a nanny state at frankston. Our way or the highway.

Good luck to Brookens and hopefully the guy can do well at the Blues. i agree with the above though, that article was certainly a back handed jab at Matthews one last time.

Promote the new guy, no need to have a go at the past. Always like to hear from someone what is good aboutt hem and what they can bring tot he table, not why they are betetr then this person or that person or what the previous person did wrong.

Matthews wont lose any sleep over those comments.
He's been around too long to worry about people's opinions especially those who have limited if any knowledge of the game.

Frankston should be more concerned in getting / keeping Brookens some players - otherwise his 2-20 record wont improve.

Judging by the Frankston Facebook page and the post that was deleted lots of sleep was lost. Been some action on Facebook last few days. This is all gaining momentum, heard he had some things to say at the presentation night as well.
