Basically working with the players/staff to ensure the development of the players both personally and professionally. Usually aligning the teaching, training and preparation of players for games in line with the organisation's culture.
Good on him. I guess there's only so far you can go as far as making a living being a NBL 9th/10th man and this job gives him the opportunity to be back in his home town too and working for a NBA franchise.
I think the role suits him too, was something he was doing a little even at the Wildcats - as far as being a great teammate and keeping guys' heads on straight. e.g. Helping keep Jimmy Ennis happy here when he was feeling extremely homesick.
A 22 year old, fringe NBL player is now the player manager of an NBA franchise?
What the?
Maybe manager is too strong of a title. I think I've heard of this type of role being called Player Liaison in other leagues/codes.
