Shaq: All-time Lakers would thrash All-time Bulls

Shaq on Instagram

We would beat em by fifty "what you think". Let me know and don't hold back

Lakers: Magic, Kobe, Baylor, Shaq, Kareem
Bulls: Rose, Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, Grant

Lakers could have Wilt, Pau, West and Worthy off the bench.

Bulls frontcourt would be in trouble!

There are some other interesting hypothetical all-time teams - Celtics and Rockets, for example.

He is correct.

But Lakers can't trade on history forever.

Lakers could also have Karl Malone on the bench. Bulls could have Toni Kukoc - 6th man extraordinaire of their 1990s team - coming off their bench.

Interstingly, if Bulls' GM had won the coin toss before 1979 draft, Magic Johnson would have been drafted to the Bulls.

Both teams could have Pau now.

Bulls frontcourt depth would have Noah for sure. Argument could be made for him starting over Grant. Jimmy Butler off the bench too.

Karl Malone could only be added at the level he was at as a Laker, which wasnt horrible but far from career form.

Lakers would win, but it wouldn't be a thumping. Not with peak Jordan

But would they beat Kentucky?

James Worthy would start for the Bulls but would have to come of the bench for the Lakers....

Lakers easily, Magic would make his stars around him much better which would be scary considering their talent.

"Add Gary Payton to the Lakers too"

The version of Gary Payton they had at the Lakers may struggle to make their best 12.

Yes but only if they could include Scotty Wilbekin.

Be closer than people think, only 1 ball to go round and that Bulls team could play some pretty good D. As long as they could manage down low and get the ball to MJ on O who the Lakers would have no chance of stopping, I'd say it would be a pretty good game...

Parker, Ginobli, Gervin, Duncan, Robinson

Bench from: Silas, Elliot, Moore, Bowen, Leonard, Gilmore, Kerr, Rodman

Not the same star power but as long as they were coached by Pop I'd back them :)

Save Malone for your Utah fantasy's. He's nowhere near top 12 in purple and gold. Just need that 5, and the 4 already mentioned off the bench. Throw in Michael Cooper and Kurt Rambis for some uglyness and defence. Byron Scott maybe
My cash is on that group against anyone

Yeah Lakers would win but the speed of that Bulls team in transition would do some real damage in the open floor...

I wouldn't add the likes of Malone and Payton to the Lakers.

Bulls transition offense would be stagnated by taking the ball out of the net all night....

Magic could post Rose all night
Shaq could stand off Rodman
Kareem destroys Grant
Kobe would love the challenge to compete with Jordan and breaks even

They win 3.5 positions right there.

What would the Jordan rules be like with Shaq protecting the rim.

To give the Bulls a sniff, Rose is likely to be faster than Magic, and the Lakers don't quite have someone like Rodman to defend the paint but still keep the pace up.

But he'd tear through his fouls trying to stop Shaq.

Shaq and Pippen have been trading insults in Instagram as a result of this hypothetical.

On Sportscentre on Foxtel this morning they noted lot's of twitter between Shaq and Scottie Pippen about this subject and it seemed to be getting a bit personal. Maybe someone can find the info and attach to this subject.

I'm a Bulls fan but with all the dynasties the Lakers have had compared to one by Chicago it's clearly the Lakers. At least Scottie knows he is definitely starting 5 for the Bulls, does Shaq get in before Wilt?

Where is Jo-Jo English? ;-)
Artest could always come off the bench and start a crowd fight and have the game called off if Lakers led by 20.

Honestly, the Lakers would win. Jordan would keep it close, but Lakers front court too strong.

Unfortunately, what Shaq might have missed is that in the Lakers BEST ever team - he comes off the bench! He actually put himself in ahead of Wilt!! Seriously...

Seeing as they finished there careers there can Bulls use James Edwards, Parish and John Salley in there primes for the argument?

Edwards and Salley simply to beat up on Shaq and get him thrown out the game.

Knicks

Fraizer
Melo
Mason
Reed
Ewing

Detroit
Thomas
Dumars
Hill
B Wallace
Laimbeer

Philli are stacked

Cheeks
AI
Dr J
Barkley
Wilt (the prime years)

Several teams that have been in for a while struggle to field a decent team. Clips, GSW, Atlanta

Feel free for thoughts

Pretty sure Bernard King makes that Knicks line up ahead of Mason. Also hard to leave out Earl Munroe.

An All-Time Celtics team would be hard to defeat:

Larry Bird
Rajon Rondo
Ray Allen
Paul Pierce
Kevin Garnet

Bill Russell
Reggie Lewis
Tom Sanders
Ed McCauley
Kevin McHale

To have Russell, Lewis and McHale coming of the bench is ridiculous! You wouldn't even need to coach this mob...

Not sure about Russell coming off the bench for Garnett. He is generally considered an upper-echelon player in NBA history. Without the Boston trade, Garnett might've had a Ewing-level legacy.

Prime Duncan and prime Robinson with Rodman playing energy minutes smashed any other frontcourt, while Parker, Ginobili, Gervin and Leonard provide the combination of scoring, playmaking and perimeter D.

You need role players and a system- Patty Mills bombing 3's and Bowen getting in Kobe's grill and there's an upset in the making right there. Mastermindrd by the great Pop
