Brendan Teys re-signs with Adelaide for 3 years

The club has re-signed hard working defensive guard Brendan Teys for the next three NBL seasons.

"Teysy is one of those guys that you love to coach. You can never question his work ethic and he is part of our core strength as a team." said Joey Wright.

The club will have stability over the coming seasons with Daniel Johnson, Anthony Petrie, Nathan Sobey and Teys all committed to the club for the next three seasons.

Great signing and great news.
I'm loving this 3-year deal stuff as it shows some team stability.

Now I say please bring back Diamon Simpson as one of the Imports.

Jack Toft,

Agree. Look at the success of the recent NBL champions - NZ and Perth.

Both had a strong and stable core of players. Their systems and styles were (and still are) settled and the only player movements tended to be in regards to 6th men and onwards down the bench.

MACDUB, yes, quite agree, when the roster changes too much the team rhythm goes out

It is great for stability and also flexibility as they will eventually take reduced player points for loyalty...

Not only good for team stability but also gives security and stability to a player. He knows what he's doing for the next 3 years so can really buy into to team, the city, the teams supporters. Also supporter can buiy into the players. We can actually become attached to players and theirfore increase our support.

I'm also hoping this more stable core group means reduced costs in recruiting new players every year which frees up more resources to get he next possible imports.

Ideally every NBL team has spectacular and exciting imports that on game nights efectively neutralise each other so its actualy the quality of the Aussie contingent that decides the final team stadnings.

Is that it for the 6's?
or have they still got spots left?

Everything but the imports for the Sixers. Like how they have a stable group, just need two quality imports.

WTF?
How is everyone raving about stability?
They've lost Wilson, Motum, Schenshcer, Crawford, BJ, and Daly, that's HALF the team!?!

Motum particularly is a huge loss.

Not saying they won't be a good team with a couple of gun imports, but you can't turnover half the team them applaud the squad's stability.

Dazz...the core group has been stable. 3 of those players you have listed were only there a year and Daly is neither here nor there.

On the flip side DJ, Gibbo, Peach, Teys, Creek have been together for 2-3 years now.

So with that and the fact that a number of players have signed/re-signed for 3 years I think it would indicate stability.

What core?
Gibson, whom you all apparently hate and wanted to leave,
and a couple of bench-warmers.

Stability comes from keeping your stars and playmakers. Even from a purely mathematical view, it requires keeping the guys who play the minutes.

Ideally you want your imports to stick around for a few years, so chasing two new ones will always upset things a little.

Again, not saying they haven't done the right thing, but it's not stability.

Reality says: "Johnson (4 year starter & club MVP), Gibson (3 year starter), Petrie (3 year starter), Teys (playoff starter in 2014 and key sub in 2015), Creek (4 year key sub or starter)."

"All" is extrapolating from a small number of people you've read. Petrie, Johnson, Creek and Teys have been starting at various points.

Motum and Wilson are the major losses, and they have two imports spots spare. Both were not really core players after the short time with the team.

Disagree that stability comes from keeping stars. Wollongong had a couple of good runs building on a core (adding one and done imports). Perth's comes from Knight, Redhage, Wagstaff, Martin. Better with Beal returning and already knowing the system, but they could replace him.

Dazz your post reminds me of that post of yours last season saying that the Sixers would not make the playoffs.
