Ridiculous having it on a weekend when 6 teams play 2 games! Says to me it's just a clay tons trial and wasting people's time, just send out invites to those they want

i think they should look at who is doing well at SEABL level. Kelly Bowen is smashing it and would be the perfect fit.

Bowen could start in the 3 spot comfortably. Smashing all comers in SEABL including some highly touted WNBL players.

The lightning have no money to pay nor relocate players, nor the infrastructure to assist players.

Bowen actually averaging 26 points, 10 rebounds. :)
I agree she has stitched up some highly regarded WBNBL players in recent games.

Apparently 26 players attended the trials and this number will be cut to 14 sometime this week.

Bowen would be a huge asset to the team however your right in saying relocating would be too expensive. She has a good job in Melbourne, a new home and fairly well entrenched at Frankston. She's a solid player and could be a great addition but money will determine the outcome

One club sent their entire u18 team out.

Does BSA expect this team to get the ball Over the half way line?

Everyone has rallied to save Adelaide Lightning so we have an avenue for South Australians to play basketball at the next level. Why wold anyone want to play for them when they get nothing but criticism for even trying out for the team. Look out for the players who make the team if they don't win many of their games, the criticism will really start then. I say good on any player who wants to test themselves and try and get an opportunity to play at a higher level or even be part of the squad to improve their game.

Players should have been invited, not a free for all, very amateur indeed

I can only imagine all the GOOD press the Lightning will get if the Nagy sisters aren't in the 14

If a teams rebuilding on a budget they must explore all avenues so an open tryout could unveil a pearl that's been overlooked you just never know. It also makes them more local friendly with supporters
