Soon hopefully.
Not sure how they can pick girls when the u16 nationals hast even taken place.
Simmons, magbegor have to be locks because they both go to Coe.
Not sure anyone else would be guaranteed a spot at this point in time.

I'm not sure how this is a spoiler when it has no information? Will be interesting when the list is finally out though,

Not sure why it is a spoiler either.
Hard for the girls waiting when they see boys squad named but no girls. Hope they are not waiting for 16 nationals to finalise.

These girls will be in the front court at worlds no doubt.
Possibly only 4.

Mcspadden
Cochrane
Pizzey
Magbegor
Batish

Nothing like last tournament when our Biggest girl was 6'1.
This time we have some legit bigs and surprisingly all good mobile shot blockers.

Imo
2-3 of Abel, lehmann, Shelley, hurst, wynne, East, George, white, goodchild, Cubillo.
5'9 Simmons/5'9 Bourne
5'10 mole/5'10 McLean
6'2 Cochrane/6'3 mcspadden
6'3 magbegor/1-2 of pizzey, batish, Rees.

Possibly 1-2 of Anderson, fisher, Fuiava, McKay, Rowe, Satie, dangelo, Sutherland, motuga, simons. A few others in the mix... Including players that perform well at u16.

If the squad has not been named officially by BA how does Basketball Tasmania justify making an announcement on their facebook page regarding Abel and Mole being selected?

I had a feeling Abel and heal would be the pg's.
Possibly 1 other. I've seen a few photos of ahlise hurst and jazmin Shelley who are both on vic u16 roster.
Is there not many good top age pg's or something?

Plenty of very talented kids in the squad, a few very lucky to make it, a few very unlucky to miss.

Good luck to the girls that made it; there are many possible combinations that could combine to make a great team.

Sorry, Simons not 2 x Simmons

PG Abel, Shelley
SG Simmons, George
SF Rowe, Simons
PF Cochrane, Pizzey
C Magbegor, Cochrane again, don't see another centre

And as for 12, would add Goodchild and Hollingsworth (not in 23) and Mole as the extra tall.

Taylor Mole (at around 6'0) is a bit more of a 3

one of Lara McSpadden or Darcy Rees should be the fourth big along with;

Cochrane/Magbegor/pizzey

They are taller for sure by 2-3 inches.
But being taller doesn't always make you A better rebounder.

Abel/heal
George/lehmann/Bourne
Simmons/mole/Simons
Cochrane/mcspadden
Magbegor/pizzey

a few bigs from u14 last year I thought were quite good.

grace baron mcray looked like a good prospect. Earily similar to hellessey.
Maybe a a few years away. Good length and height. Moves really well.

Great to see Abby Cubillo picked. She's getting lots of court time and doing very well at the 1 spot with Shannon Seebohm's Hornsby Spiders in Waratah, so it's reasonable to assume that she'll be making the final squad.

Kids from u14 last year way to young to take to worlds.

Quite a few ahead of Frawley in the Vic Metro team, good six man for the u16 team at best.

Don't forget you can take 2 inches off for US as they measure in shoes.

Magbegor is a legit 6'3" at 15, Cochrane 6'4" at 14.

Cochrane really 6'4?
Thought she was 6'2-6'3 like magbegor and pizzey. Around 190cm.

Ridiculous that under 14 players are included. Make them play against the older age groups first before they are ready for Aus rep. Some older players have been left out when if you did match them up the younger players would struggle. They have plenty of time so let them develop and include the older players for their own opportunity.

Only younger player that has demonstrated being able to play older players is Shelley. Understand she plays Big V and does well.

You can list U18 players if they've been named in a squad. You cannot assess their merits or judge them. Guys, this is not a difficult to understand or follow rule.
