Aussie Hoosiers - 1983 State League Final

Thoughts on a comparable real life scenario to the famous movie "Hoosiers" in Australia.

1982(methinksso) Mens state league grand final, West Adelaide Vs North Adelaide.

Bearcats at the time played their full NBL team including Leroy, Al, Wood, Ali, I think Dalton, Andy Campbell and were expected to win by 30+.

North had ???? Someone help me here.

Game was at the Apollo in front of 4,000 fans and North won a remarkable final.

A true Hoosiers style victory.

Any others??

1984 Centrals over North Adelaide, Centrals came from nowhere and won their first and only grand final over the powerhouse club North Adelaide whom had won it 2 years before (as above). I guess at the time it may have been unexpected.

Sorry Bootney, Wrong year.
West bearcats won their 5th grand final in a row in 1982. Ken Richardson was the team coach from 1978 - 1982 winning all local State League finals. They were also the NBL Champions in the same year. West aso played the canberra cannons the following year in the NBL Grand Final losing by a couple of points.

The year North won I think Paul Hyland was their PG, Vinnie Tat... shut down Leroy, cant remember who the import was, and I think Terry Aston was coach. It was 83.
