Meeting of Townsville creditors next Saturday. Advertiser had an article earlier this week saying they look like taking the court next season. So, if that's right, they should be in a position to sign players after next week.

Wollongong have about a month to go until the extension given at its most recent creditors' meeting expires. Not sure if they can start signing players before then. Administrator's decision.

Oh, and NBL won't release free agents' list until after April 30. Exactly who's on the list depends on how many currently rostered players will have been re-signed by their current teams by then. Interesting question is whether Wollongong and Townsville are in positions to re-sign players before 30 April. If not, presumably they'll be on the free agents' list.

Think Motum will be back aswell as DJ. Gibbo is a 50/50.

When is the season expected to start? Can't wait for the player signings to come.

Motum and Creek are under contract for next season. Pretty sure DJ came back on the proviso of a long term deal so would expect him to be back at Adelaide. I doubt Peach and Gibbo go anywhere.

When the Wildcats sent out memberships there was a option to pre-order player singlets for next year

Beal
Hire
Knight
Jervis
U'U
Wagstaff
Redhage
Martin

Only import & one other spot to fill at Cats next season. (can only assume Ross is not returning)

Drake U'u - FA
Earnest Ross - 2yrs?
Ross's two years are both mutual options, AFAIK. Pretty sure U'u is signed to the same deal.

Both the Perth Wildcats and Ross have options at the end of each year of his three-year contract.

Both U'u and the Perth Wildcats have options at the conclusion of each season as part of the three-year contract.

How does both the player and the team having an option work?

Wookie: you have Steindl on the wrong team mate.

Aside from Perth, that's a lot of free agents there. Bit of a worry when clubs can only commit to 1 year deals for the majority of their team.

most of NZ's local players are at the end of long term deals and will no doubt resign.
Vukona has expressed that he will resign and this will be his last contract (multi year).
Just leaves clouds over R.Carter, T.Wesley & E.Ibekwe.

@anon... One mistake wasn't too bad, normally I have several :)

Isaac will have to edit it though...

Ok, so, wishlist for the Kings...

Starting quality PG
JChill to come back
Quality back up for JChill at the 3
Starting calibre guy for the middle...

JChill returning depends on how much we can spare to throw at him... We saw last season how putting all our eggs in one basket didn't work out... A JChill + Sanders import combo could work... Maybe leave some cash for an Ogilvy or Khazzouh return, if we could get some marquee money?

If no Childress, where do the Kings spend their money? Try to tempt AJ or Jules back and go cheaper elsewhere?

Can we afford to go cheaper at the 3, maybe tempt a Steindl down and try to snag Gibbo to join his old backcourt mate?

Hell, if there's no AJ or Khazzouh available, I'd be more than happy with a Gibbo/Peach combo and run a bit small with Peach and Tommy splitting time at the 5...

Ok, so this shoudl all be kicking off from the 30th, I wonder if it will just be a fizzle, or teams have been lurking and waiting to pounce?

Odds on the first movers?
