That'd be the same Rhys Carter I'd imagine. Rhys grew up in Sale.
Would be curious to see an AFL player run around in SEABL or similar, possible?

This isn't the first time he's played footy in Sale during the off season, he played a few games a couple of years ago. There was discussion on this very forum IIRC.

I didn't realise Sale had got an AFL team! Rhys played for Werribee in the VFL roughly 10 years ago now.

Paul great sarcasm. Ok not AFL but VFL, but still played aussie rules at elite level prior to playing basketball in the NBL

Its is technically AFL football just not at the elite level.He must have insurance cover for it.Hes 6-3 so would be handy up forward.
he played vfl for the weribee tigers for a season after his stint as a development player with the victoria giants before he went to the razorbacks. so its not surprising to see him back in his home town playing another sport hes already played semi professionally

It's actually Autralian rules football, and justthinking I wasn't having a go at you, rather the thread title which suggests Sale has entered the AFL, which I found quite amusing!
I just went past the local park and saw a bunch of kids playing NBA!

AFL and VFL are leagues(competitions), not games. The game is Australian Rules.

Are the Breakers cool with Carter playing football? Its a fairly brutal sport, could pick up injuries?

Southern states call Aussie Rules: footy. Northern states call it: AFL. As footy is rugby league up north. Just the way it is. Not that strange unless you live under a rock
