Given the circumstances of this it probably should not have been allowed. The above poster obviously is not aware of the details of the situation hence his/her ridiculous post.

I believe Andy Simons is the coach of Forestville. Al should have sitting there assisting Andy, not looking for conflict with referees on the game no matter who they were. You lot need to move on..

C'mon get over it. Green is the ASSISTANT COACH!

People move on eventually and get on with it.

and yet another prime example of how far removed from the sport the BSA Referee controlling body actually are, why not go whole hog and make sure you roster him for the game between Forestville and Woodville, now that would be worth paying money to watch.

with the quality of refs in this state and their misunderstanding or interruptions of the rules I don't think it would really matter who umpired!!!
and just to confuse the players more after they get told at half time how bad they are reffing they come out the next half and make calls completely opposite to what they were :(
No wonder everyone is confused and don't know what to do!!!!!!!!!!!

Is Benn still President of Woodville? If that is the case then Benn should not be refereeing at this level due to a conflict of interest - as rightly or wrongly it may be perceived that he could influence a game in favour of Woodville..
Care Factor. As a former referee evaluator I would never approach referees at half time about any issue, unless, it was having a detrimental affect on the game - and then only in the worst of circumstances.
I'm not sure who currently is responsible for the rostering of elite referees - but previously some of the people involved did not understand what was required at the elite level due to the fact that they had never officiated at a truly elite level.
