Summer Grand Final 1 week ago, now the coach and apparently quite a few of the players are gone.
Hard to believe this just happened. It's like a cancer got into the team and destroyed it.
The story has it kids have either approached or left for a few different clubs.
... But they didn't jump off a sinking ship... no of course not.
What about the kids who out of coincidence just moved clubs to be where the state coach was??
isn't that below the belt, it may be justified I do not know but you are talking about u18s children here and against the forum guidelines, and possibly slanderous do you wish to be sued?
If theres one thing I can rely on this site for is a consistent reason not to ever have my kid play district basketball...the parents involved who talk smack on here are a joke.

Coaches quit after summer season, one player jumped ship. Players still turned up for training on Wednesday, but the club hadn't organized any replacement coach, so the boys went home ... Now, disillusioned more boys have approached other clubs.

It's unusual for coach and assistant to both walk out on winters eve after summer. Unless there's a cause and effect.

i heard they got suspended 1 week, which means they arent allowed to train or coach the team for a week
BSA game them a pass on the GF game but now they must fulfil their sentence

What was the "suspension" for? If the boys liked playing with each other what about a revival of a Woodville div 1 team!
The suspension is a load of crap. That's not what happened at all. Don't believe everything on Hoops.
As for a revival of a Woodville team, the answer is simple. Because nobody in their right mind would go to Woodville. No direction, people quitting left right and centre, no high level coaches left apart from the JDO.
The thread started with a question....so if you know what happened then we're all ears, but its quite obvious you don't, as all you could do is speak about another club.

I have it on good authority that two of the west boys will be in Forestville colours this week, one even told his west coach that he was injured and couldn't play the first game, then went out and watched the Forestville game.

OMG How dare you put down another club like that Anon #522240. That is so wrong on many cases. It is an insult for the many volunteers and kids involved in that club. There is no need to make a shit comment like that when someone was just asking a question regarding another club.

Hard to keep up with how many times kids change clubs
Fact of the matter is West have lost a fantastic coach. Not only does it seem they have lost one but two as his Assistant Coach has gone.
Clubs need to have support structures in place from the top. If clubs don't have adequate, highly competent basketball leadership to support coaches, build relationships with them, encourage them then they will loose them. Unfortunately clubs with these structures and people in place are few and far between.
