Jingles and Blake

Was just watching the Jazz/Clippers replay and noticed that Joe and Blake were pretty chatty in a mates type of way even though it was a somewhat fiery game. How do these guys know each other and anyone watch the game and see what I noticed as well? Just curious ;)

They met each other when Ingles was with Clippers in pre-season. They became mates. Blake was recently interviewed and talked about his friendship with his Aussie mate.

Yeah, Jingles got along really well with the Clippers guys. He was also close to DeAndre Jordan.

Thought the thread was going to be about this - Ingles steals the ball from Blake Griffin, runs the fast break and then behind the back assist.

I think steal is a loose term, he just 2 hands shoves him as he is passing :)
But nice recovery on the break to set up Kanter.
Blake looked pissed in the background though, maybe their bromance is over ;)

Isaac the title of that thread would have been "jingles goes Beast Mode on Griffin" or something along those lines of course ;)

The behind the back pass made the NBA Top 10 plays for the day as well.

What amazes me the most is Ingles stats, bloody awesome for a guy playing in the NBA for the first time, three months in. Only a matter of time before he gets a few big triple doubles! Which I believe is the most impressive thing a player can do on a basketball court.

Out of all the recent Aussie Ballers in the last decade, I strongly think that Ingles is the most talented/skilled player with the potential to make a huge impact in the NBA(only if this guy could be more aggressive)!

He doesn't take enough shots, not sure if that's the coaches orders.

He recently said in an interview that he had been told to look for his shot more. So it appears to be Joe just picking his shots.

A nice article about Utah and more to the point Joe Ingles

http://www.slcdunk.com/the-downbeat/2015/1/29/7937671/nba-all-star-2015-joe-ingles-dante-exum-trey-burke-rudy-gobert-utah-jazz-downbeat-1536

"Ingles is, clearly, a player you need on a winning team. He has the ability to make something out of nothing."

Kind words, but also liked the comparisons they made to former NBA players.

"Ingles appears to be a Jerry Sloan throwback" and "A point forward version of the rebounding and hustle specialist Adam Keefe, who somehow managed to start and play 26 mpg on an NBA Finals club".

Decent praise for Joe considering he is averaging (as the article stated "a triple couple (6.3 ppg, 3.4 rpg, and 4.2 apg)".

It is a good read. Also another article about him at

Jingles is a GREAT example to show young players that staying in Australia can be an excellent way to develop and that you dont have to go to college.

Of course its individual situation, finding the right fit...

I just tweeted this, but the assist counts from Joe's last four games: 7, 5, 5, 7. That's pretty impressive. Would never have guessed that he could approach a triple double, but you wouldn't bet your house against it.
