NZ's Tai Wynard in States picking a School

Breakers DP & Tall Black, Tai Wynard is in the States checking out campus's and talking to Coaches etc so he can decide which College he's going to attend.
He is picking between Kentucky, Villanova & Texas apparently.

At 16yo this kid has so much potential and is the most likely the next Kiwi candidate to follow Steven Adams footsteps through the draft into the NBA.

Isaac is still draft eligible, averaging 10 points in the ACB and 17 and 6 last night. Wynyard not going to be the next

Its quite amazing.

If Isaac came back to the Breakers = no draft potential, no exposure etc.

Went to the ACB has played his tail off and now has a great chance to be drafted.

Good article from Kentucky sports. Jonathan Givony from Draft Express talking about Tai Wnyard and briefly talks about the Breakers.

Some_Fulla,

reputable scouts in the US have told me teams are looking at him late second round.

They like that he is currently playing in Europe and like the idea of "getting his draft rights and keeping him in Europe to develop".

By all accounts he left scouts really impressed by his WC performance.

Scouts also believe that he is not 6"8, but rather 6"9-6"9.25.

You dont play like he is right now and not get drafted

The big thing for Fotu was being loaned to a poor ACB team where he gets the chance to be a main traget, as opposed to the Breakers or a good ACB team where he'd be one cog in the wheel of a really good team.

Will be interesting to see if he gets drafted, NBA clubs are valuing what international players bring more and more, even if they are a step down athletically.

Having said that, Isaac has been inconsistent and his rebounding has been pretty average so there's still plenty to work on. But between his hot nights, his college form and his WC form I'm sure he's attracted plenty of attention.

If he does need up getting drafted, he will be left in Europe in the short term to continue to develop.

Yes Fotu has a chance of making an NBA team but is unlikely to follow Adams footsteps into the first round and into playing minutes straight off the bat rather staying in Europe for at least the duration of his contract to develop.
