R14: Hawks v Breakers

The Breakers got the shock of their life on Thursday when the Hawks pushed them to the limit and send the game to OT. It just goes to show there are no easy games in the (A)NBL and you need to be on your game.

It all happens again today when the Breakers make the trip across the ditch to take advantage of the Thirroul swell. The last game played at the Pit went 77:79 so expect another close one today. No doubt after such a close call Dean Vickerman told his boys just to have a few days rest and do some meditation .....

Better pack your brown jocks Breakers, the Hawks are due for a win and will be primed in the fact they have sowed some seeds of doubt in your mind. The stadium will be hotter than the Coke Ovens in summer with more sparks than the tapping of the blast furnace.

I'm going to put my neck on the line and tip a rare Hawks win.

Hawks always get up for the NZ games but doesn't mean they'll prevail.
The Breakers are sitting on top for good reason, they have lost 4 games on the road all season and have the luxury of having Carter/Wesley & Ebekwe coming off the bench.

NZ by 7.

Vickerman was in the hotel room with Ebola so Pauli Henare got the nod to coach. Thought he rotated players well.

It wasn't ebola you idiot.

Vickerman has aids. I know this because as soon as his illness was confirmed it was also reported that one of the aids was going to do the coaching today in his absence.

So Pauli has AIDS?!! ("one of the aids [sic] was going to coach) :P

This internet rumour mill is remarkably "contagious".

By the six degree of separation rule, I'll suspect by 12 midnight, everyone will have "aids".

Breakers survive Ervin onslaught in Sunday thriller

The Breakers, who continue to mirror their opponents play, underachieved against the league worst Hawks and appear to be very beatable. Part of their lackadaisical performance could be pegged on coach Dean Vickerman who was absent from the game with an illness. Wollongong, who have suffered through a horror season, are not playing like easy beats and will be able to compete with any team for the remainder of the season.

Have to feel for the Hawks. All it takes is a few lapses over a game and you have a close loss to a good team, but when it's game after game, you must feel pretty unlucky.

Ervin and Coenraad were decent for Wollongong. I thought Ervin was done after one of the Perth road games where he looked terrible, but he's regained his mojo, perhaps after being put out in front of Carson as the starting import. Scores since that 3/14 FG outing in Perth have been: 13, 31, 24, 16, 21, 25 = 21.7 PPG.

Ervin has been playing at the Gary Ervin MVP level since that game you mention Isaac.

Jahii Carson on the other hand shouldn't even be getting close to the reduced minutes he's getting.

Tweeting about his high school dominance and hows he's getting paid: https://twitter.com/JahiiCarson/status/553827294637088770

Carson's tweets are pretty damn hilarious.

He is best friends with Richie Edwards from his Arizona State days.

Classic example of the difference between confidence and arrogance. Carson displays the latter.

Confident people believe they can do a certain thing.

Arrogant people feel entitled to a certain thing.

Neither Carson or Ervin should be getting close to Twitter.
