Australian Schools Champs - Canberra

Haven't heard a peep out of BA about these championships and they begin in just under 3 weeks!

Anyone know who is playing championship division/if a draw is available?
Would be great to watch i'd imagine.

They have oceania un19 at the same time and basketball Australia have nothing on that either, and that's a qualifier for worlds, so don't fancy your chances on getting a school comp on national or not lol
Very poor form from basketball Australia, they need to pull their socks up and show some interest

It's an irrelevant school comp only.

^ Anon yes you are so right. In fact, it's such an irrelevant tournament that the Chinese are sending their U17 National team to play this year AND so irrelevant that they only attract players like Dante Exum to play there.

Get over yourself, It is certainly down the pecking order below U18s, U16s and U14s Clubs Nationals but it is by no means irrelevant. And it deserves a bit of promotion from Basketball Australia. The Championship division games are actually of great quality and some big names play there.

It's certainly not irrelevant, it's a great tournament showcasing talent that you otherwise don't get to see as only 10 players make a state team, and I'd rank it above un14s as that's just showcasing a few teams, that have a couple of decent players, very few actually come all the way through to the senior elite level from there

The senior champ section of school nationals has some amazing talent usually, though perhaps not this year as un19 Oceania is on in fiji at the same time.

BA have really fallen off the wagon lately with their lack of coverage of all the junior programs really.
When you consider how important this next un19 Oceania is in it's new format you would think they would at least be conducting training or tours like New Zealand and the other countries Australia has to play, but no not a thing. No promotion nothing
Not sure if it's ignorance or arrogance, but let's hope it doesn't come back to bite them, with either our Aussie men or women not making worlds for 2015.

Not irrelevant to those playing. Sounds like someone didn't get the chance to play
