Gems squad chosen

Antoniadou
Seaton
Hellessey
Horvat
Maley
Scherf
Skinner
Smith
Tupaea
Wallace

Reserves
pirini
Bibby

Good choices in My opinion don't know much about skinner though...

Most likely a line up of:
Wallace or antoniadou/tupaea
Wallace or antoniadou/Seaton
Maley/horvat/skinner
Smith/hellessey
Scherf

Tupaea plays Sg also
Seaton plays sf also
Maley plays pf also
Smith or hellessey plays c also

Has list been released by BA ?

Good group not many surprises, probably skinner and Horvat would be the two who wouldn't have been in the main group

Wallace coming back from Baylor to play against the might of Oceania ..... I hear that Tuvalu will be tough this year.

Only ten not the normal 12 too, add sharp and frolings to this group (taking out probably skinner) and you have your worlds team for 2015 I'd be guessing.

BUT they have to win at Oceania first as this gets them into worlds and from reading other nations info they have all been working hard especially the nz girls they have been touring playing lots together, this gems group have had one camp, will have 2 days prep before with Wallace joining them in fiji, not ideal is it.
That's what happens when almost the entire budget is taken by opals and boomers.

Write up on the Gems can be found here:

Australian U19 Gems squad selected for FIBA Oceania U19 Championships | Roster + Preview

The Jayco Australian U19 Women's squad has been named in preparation for the 2014 FIBA Oceania Pacific Youth Championships, tipping off on the 1st of December in Fiji. A successful showing would see the 'Gems’ qualify for the 2015 FIBA Under 19 World Championship for Women in Chekhov, Russia next July.

Sorry but where did he get his info from for that article think he reads the same mail as Rex
Unless he was privy to what went on at the camp making predictions on where players sit in a team is just his opinion. Smith is there for more than her rebounding, there is about an inch difference in height between seaton Wallace and antoniadou, and seaton is a far smaller frame than either antoniadou and Wallace.
And for a Victorian would love to know what a "typical Victorian guard " is so all the other out their know too
