Was pleasantly surprised by how consistently well Clint Steindl played.

Jordan McRae for Melbourne - 28 points in both games. You could tell he wanted to show what he's got but in the 2nd game he gelled a bit more with the team working well in tandem with Worth on a number of plays...

Well that's a better run of form than I've ever seen from him before, pre-season or none...

Wilbiken, McRae and Perry were great imo.
Look forward to seeing what Childress, Daniels and Dennis can do when healthy.

Mickell Gladness showed that he's got what it takes to be a dominant force in this league at both ends of the floor. Him and Conklin will be a handful.
If those two, Markovic and Blanchfield remain injury free then I can see Townsville being a top 4 team this season.

Wollongong need to sort out how to run their backcourt.
Carson will need a little bit to fit in and find his 'NBL' game.

Was impressed with Wilbekin, McRae and Gladness in particular.
Think this will be one of the closest seasons in NBL history.

Disagree- Perth and United should be a clear top 2 this season. Perhaps NZ, Sydney, Cairns or Crocs could challenge.
Don't forget United were missing Dennis when they lost to the Crocs.
The Crocs shut them down with their second half zone, but Dennis would have made a huge difference, plus McRae was just off his game in that second half.
Utd were missing both Dennis and Barlow!
Jordan McRae looks like he could be an MVP type import but not sure Torrey Craig or Jahii Carson will last.

Demos and Coenraad top scoring for the Hawks - didn't see that one coming but good on them.
Wilbekin was fantastic and great to see Tragardh have a successful return from injury. Loughton could do with a haircut though.

I think that Cam Tragardh will be huge this season for the Taipans.

Tai Wesley was good for NZ and TeRangi has improved a fair bit in the offseason.

Ross showed that all the fuss over Guam gate wasn't warranted.
McRae is the must see player this season.
Melbourne Utd clear favorite to win it all.
Perth will finish the season second.
Townsville 3rd.
I don't think the hawks experiment will work past about 3 games - carson was average at the blitz
and doesn't bring much defensively and his game is pretty much drive and take a tough shot. already taken care of in the backcourt role with ervin at PG
the hawks rebounding still sucks and the defense is worse with martin out. hawks need a legit import pf/c and a solid back up point guard

How long is Davidson out for the Hawks? Can they go after Neville as injury replacement?

The standard of players in the league this year is absolutely crazy.
It's just disappointing that the average 'ocassional' fan doesn't realise that as much as us forum-posters do.
Re: the Hawks - what if they got Neville and went after Dillion. p.s. where did Martin actually end up..can't find anything anywhere.
I think if the Hawks got rid of Carson and went with the following, they would be much more balanced:
Ervin
Dillion
Coenraad
Forman
Neville
I think it would be feasible - Davidson's salary and Carson's salary would be $200-225k.
