Daughter may be going in next few years. What can we expect to obtain and are there any tricky items we should also ask for? Any help thankfully received!

A good education and health cover, you don't get paid to play in college no natter who you are
Depends on level.
D1 everything excpet flights over and back.
Other levels can be the same, to having to pay for any or all of; food, rent, books etc.

Athletic scholarships cover tuition, books, board and meals.
You have to pay flights there and back, scholarships are not allowed to cover that.
At Div II level, you may also have to pay for US health insurance.
Also, the above assumes "full ride" ... some scholarships may be partial as schools are not allowed enough scholarships to hand out a full ride to everyone person on their roster.
And you don't ask - you (your child) will be offered a scholarship if a school is interested ... you then decide if you wish to accept the offer.

Div 3 = Nothing
but you may get financial aid in the form of a Student Grant in lieu of a scholarship.
Hi.I have heard that some DIV 1 full scholarships make you pay the insurance.They cover you for insurance then they get you to cover them for out side of the college???Has any one heard of that.?
