Rising Stars in US High School: Adel commits to Louisville; Simmons, Maker continue to impress

The July recruitment period has been huge for the Australians playing high school basketball in the US. In June we saw another addition to the growing list of talent choosing to move to the US as big-man Isaac Humphries (2016) announced his decision to transfer to La Lumiere School. Ben Simmons (2015) and Thon Maker (2016) continued to dominate their respective classes while Deng Adel closed out the month by committing to Rick Pitino's program at the University of Louisville.

Great article LC, there was a couple of kids on the list that I was not aware of.
Pretty interesting to see so many recruits heading over to the US for high school now, seems to be making it easier for them to pick scholarship offers.

Can you give some insight into Matur Maker?
Is he a chance of playing division 1 NCAA or is he just in the spot light because his brother is the number 1 recruit in 2016? Does he have any scholarship offers that you are aware of?

Olgun did a great job on this piece that's for sure.

As for Matur Maker, he still has a couple (I think) years of HS left before heading to college. While still raw, he will definitely head to what is looking like a major D1 school. Still very early days for him.

Last Thursday night saw Kentucky head coach John Calipari visit La Lumiere to watch Isaac Humphries, and the Aussie 7-footer didn't upset - posting an impressive line as the Lakers defeated Wasatch Academy. Nearly 1000 miles south, in New Orleans, Ben Simmons and his Montverde Academy squad look to have rebounded from their City of Palms loss – opening the Bourbon Street Classic with a statement victory.

Humphries impresses Calipari; Simmons, Montverde back on track
