yeah for sure.
I think she needs to take a page out of griners book, she worked really hard in the off season to improve her game.

They play Japan #2 in the 2nd game. Be lucky to win this against Japan #1

After watching a couple of minutes my naive observations are that Japan appear to have more players than Australia who can put the ball on the floor and offensive rebounds are keeping Australia in the game.

there ball movement and cohesiveness is much better than ours.

Automatic selections:

1) Mitchell, Phillips, X
2) Snell, X
3) Taylor, Allen
4) Jackson, Jarry, Hodges
5) Cambage, X

Wilson/Hurst/Lavey/McCully - for 1 spot

Madgen probably gets a 2 guard spot because there isn't much else available, has to beat out Screen/Zavecs.

Richards/Francis/Burton

Should just pick Jenna Ohea anyway.

Hurst has out played Mitchell both ends of the floor the past three games; defensive pressure has be phenomenal as well creating much needed ball movement on offence.

forgot about Kunek,if she is fit and firing could definitely use her shooting ability.

Phillips/Snell
Taylor/Allen/Kunek
Jackson/Francis/Hodges
Cambage/Richards

Allen playing the 2 and 3.

Hurst given up several baskets in this game due to lack of defensive transition. Mitchell will be in for sure.
Snell a level above this.

Japanese bigs are killing Burton.

burton never should have been near the squad.
I still think she was chosen incase the loss of jackson to injury. (So she would end being behind hodges at PF)

Surprised she doesn't get that many blocks.
Griner vs cambage will be a fun to watch, although griner is now much more polished compared to last year.

They need Jenna O'Hea. I would be sending an SOS to her as soon as possible. With any chance of a top 5 placing the Opals need her.

Hurst & Lavey are way out of their depth. The team should be:

Leilani Mithcell
Erin Phillips
Belinda Snell
Penny Taylor
Rebecca Allen
Jenna O'Hea
Rachel Jarry
Laura Hodges
Liz Cambage
Lauren Jackson
Cayla Francis
Gabe Richards

Ohea was not included because she could not attend 2 out of the 3 camps though it's been fine for Jackson to sitt the whole process out, Joyce needs his head read

'opals' thats a great side.

If we had all our players I would have put bishop over hodges and ohea over jarry.

The other placing probably 1 of ebzery or cumming.

But with Mitchell and Phillips past injuries you probably need to take a 3rd point guard.
Probably 1 of wilson or hurst. wilson could also play the 2 although it would be a very small back court.

I thought ohea wanted to skip the worlds to focus on her wnba career...

She didn't really have a choice, they have to earn a living. Hopefully she will be back for rio in 2016 , but big hole for worlds without her that's for sure. Wilson is also injured, so may not be fit in time for worlds, so I'd say Mitchell Hurst and Philips running the PG spot with Philips swinging into the SG .
