"Jawai is "missing" for a good reason IMO"

In London we desperately need rebounding and a presence in the paint. We needed Jawai. Hopefully he's fully fit and back to 100%

I just hope that guys who shouldn't be part of the team (Worthington, Walker, Brandt etc) aren't part of the final roster.

My team

Baynes/Jawai
Bairstow/Anderson/Motum
Ingles/Simmons/Broekhoff
Goulding/Newley
Delly/Exum

Jawai is "missing" for a good reason IMO

LOL!!!!!!!

He will be one of the best players on the team even if he is not at 100 percent. Will have someone who can finally score in the post and rebounds. Good luck getting that out of Baynes other than effort points!

Garlepp?? OMG LOL. Get off the site Mr Garlepp!!

Rebounding is a fair concern. None of our 4-men are good rebounders. Which of our 3s are also good rebounders? Broekhoff?

Its definitely the following 11

Dellavedova/Exum
Newley/Goulding
Ingles/Simmons
Anderson/Bairstow/Motum
Baynes/Jawai

Plus a 12 man will be between one of these two depending on need;

1) Adam Gibson - if we need a 3rd point guard then his shooting/scoring gets the nod over martin.

2) Ryan Broekhoff - If we need a 3 point shooter and swingman.

Broekoff or Simmons to back up ingles and gibbo or Martin as third pg depending on camp performances.

Broekhoff is a great rebounder for his size.

A fit Jawai is worth a punt IMO.

^ Its on his home court in spain (were he is a fan favourite), been playing in europe for years, years of experience playing with Ingles (since high school), his defence has improved and he can take it to the rim. Yeah your right its crazy

who would you suggest, Goulding? his first time playing with the boomers and only played at NBL level (+2 SL's). I think Goulding will do well, but give him some time to work up to it..

Delly and Exum majority in the point

I'd start Goulding over Newley. He's a way better shooter and scorer.

Believe it or not, Martin shot 42.1% from beyond the arc last season. Gibson went 38.3%.

True LC but Gibson had a superior FG% of 47.8 to Martin's 44.4%. Also if the clock is winding down and the ball was in either Gibson or Martin's hands, I'd say Gibson is a better chance at getting a shot off. Gibson's also arguably a better ball handler than Martin as well.

No questions Martin is the superior defender.

Not necessarily advocating for Gibson as I'm aware of his limitations, especially at the international level.

I guess it's a question of what Lemanis wants out of the reserve guard spot.

On this team, Martin would not be in the position of having the ball in his hands with the clock running down. It would be either Delly, Ingles or even Goulding.

In any case, between Delly, Ingles, Newley and Goulding, I think they will chew up most of the minutes. Exum will get a chance, and anyone else is purely a backup.
