NBA moves this week

Some more moves in the NBA this morning.

Darren Collison to Kings for 3 years at $16m. Does this mean that Thomas may be involved in a Josh Smith trade as Pistons keen on him?

Thabo Sefolosha to Hawks for 3 years at $12m.

Ben Gordon to Magic for 2 years at $9m.

Sebastian Telfair to Thunder for 1 year at minimum.

Not a move, but Nowitzki agrees to 3 years at $30m.

Unfortunatley I think that leaves the Mavs unable to sign a max contract. Nonetheless, it is under what he should be earning.

Would have liked to see lakers try for Collison at that price. He did average about 14 and 7 when starting whilst Paul was injured. I think lakers like Marshall and his price! Jordan Clarkson looks to have a frame that could cause issues at the point position but obviously won't start him. 6'5" with 6'8" wingspan that likes to attact the rim sounds promising although perimeter shooting is poor.

If Melo really wants to be a Mav, but has to have a Max contract.
Then the Mavs can dump Wright and Felton to free up move capspace.
76ers would probably take them for a 1st rd pick.
They could tell the 76ers they have major injuries and can't play for 6 months, seems to be their requirement for adding players :)

If Lakers are an option for one of the big players, then surely they should make their move while there are still free agents available?

Lakers met with Melo, apparently Kobe didn't bother attending.

Rumours of Lebron talking to other teams have started.
It will be interesting to see if it is just a smoke screen to avoid any collusion talk.

Or to kick Pat Riley into adding more talent to the Heat roster.

Or he is actually considering moving to another team.

The Suns would probably be the best team to move to.
They have a lot of young talent, but are also very good already. Dragic, Bledsoe, Plumlee, Green, Morris twins.
Plus Frye and Tucker if they can re-sign and get Lebron.

Hoping he goes to Dallas, but no one every does so... :(

"Lakers met with Melo, apparently Kobe didn't bother attending."

Not being in the country didn't help his ability to attend the meeting. He gets back today and will chat with Melo then.

Dallas are pretty canny. I remember when Cuban traded Jawai (and cash) to Minnesota for the right to exchange a second round draft pick.

The cash component was Jawai's entire salary for the following season.

Jawai played for Dallas? Don't remember that.

Techinally he didn't, he only played about 3-4 Summer League games with Dallas before they traded him to Minny.

* I remembered incorrectly he played 3-4 SL games with Toronto that year before being traded to Dallas (where he played 2-3 SL games) and then the Mavs traded him to Minnesota during the pre-season.
