Norths men and women u18 completed their undefeated season successfully. Norths girls with only 5 players due to various reasons. The men in quite a dominant fashion against a playoff team, by 30 points. Both 16s games went to Penrith, whilst both 14s went to Norths.

Just goes to show how strong the mens u18 VJBL age group is this year. Norths were lucky to finish 5th in the classic - behind 4 Vic Metro teams. Then Norths beat a fellow finalist in NSW Metro League by 30. Not enough attention paid to the depth of talent in mens Vic under 18's. Only 10 state spots - some serious talent misses the national exposure - while we have an U18 Nationals full of sub standard players representing other states and Territories. System is not representing the real talent.

No kid involved - stick to the facts - contribute something meaningful - this is not being made up or some fanciful story - it is real.
it is pointless though. its a nationals not a vic metro have the best talent so they should get 3 or 4 teams.

sigh as much as you want "BigBird" - no other team came close to beating either of the 2 Vic Metro u18 boys teams at this years East Coast Challenge. Each VIc team lost one of their six games - to who? - the other Vic team.
Its still a national championship. So players from their state and region should be allowed to represent their state and region... whether they are as good as vic mets 4th team or not.
"contribute something meaningful"
Take your own advice there Anon....

Anon, no one questions Victorias depth, but it's called NATIONAL championships. Best 10-12 from each state.
What you're proposing already exists, it's called VJBL.

I'm also still waiting on an explanation of Norths 'lucky' 5th place finish.
Norths could've done better at the Classic, but in the end, the quality of players were too hard to take down. Norths has picked apart the New South Metro comp with their depth (albeit a few standout players), but the individual stars out of Melbourne were too hot to handle, regardless of whether or not they were part of one or two trick teams.

Norths - very lucky to have 2 poor teams in Melbourne 2 (currently 9th out of 10 after 13 games) and West Adelaide in their original pool. Wouldn't have made it to the quaters if they had better teams
Norths undefeated into the Grand Final in BNSW MJL and you still want to rip on them for 5th at Classic. Talk about something relevant like the Grand Final which they should win.
