WNBA is capped at $90 K american
I believe Erin was offered / paid around $45 K american or about 60k australian - not bad for 4 months of serious ball
beacause she did not go - i do not know if she got any money or a retainer

Here are a few reasons for you to look into further...
NBA is an established league (75+years i believe)
WNBL is just over 10
NBA has almost 10* the TV revenue
WNBA is on during the summer months in the states and has to compete with baseball and school vacation times (holidays)
the majority of sports fans are male and contrary to logic would rather watch a bunch of sweatty men run around rather than a bunch of sweatty, athletic women run around
Although the NBA is vocally supportive of the WNBA they dont provide much in the way of financial support.

I don't understand these theories of why the WNBA does not make enough money as the NBA. Most would think it is simply a concept of "supply and demand".
But I'm hearing theories on cultural influences of the problem and using socialist type solutions.
I think a large part of the problem is we are going to far in this theory of equality between men and women in that it is challenging the very laws and principles of nature or God and common sense. Men and women are supposed to be simply DIFFERENT neither superior or inferior. We are supposed to be interdependant therefore we are automatically equal in value. We are supposed to be working together.
But pain and abuse has caused so much dispute between the sexes.
