And this reported from yesterday's brawl:

"This follows an April incident which saw two players arrested in Southland, both being charged with obtaining by deception, and one also being charged with being unlawfully in a yard."

From the article:

Dawson was in trouble earlier this year also, after being arrested in April and charged with obtaining by deception [less than $500] and being unlawfully in a yard after fleeing a taxi without paying.

Dawson is not currently playing for the Sharks due to "personal reasons" and wasn't with the team when they were fighting New Plymouth. He has been out the last few games with no explanation except for "personal reasons", maybe they have suspended him quietly?
