NBL non American imports
Why dont we ever get europeans over as imports? They could bring less ego and a stronger work ethic..

Europeans can play easily in Europe. More valuable there than here.

Language barrier would play some part as well. Same as it does with the aussies going to Europe.
That centre from Razorbacks. Cant remember his name - African.

Mark Dickel, Tony Rampton and Casey Frank all played as imports prior to NZ Breakers joining the league.
Razorbacks had two African centres.
1st year was Ernest Zigamasabo, played good game round one vs Kings, then proved to be a dud, with Bolden and Dwight proving to play more minutes at 5.
Then following few years was Cheikh Ya Ya Dia

Raises an intruiging point this, I would hazzard a guess that if the NBL improved and followed a similar path to that of the A-League we may in fact see more of a connection with European League players.
However, why would they even consider our league?
1. The money is inferior to almost any other national league I bleieve (at the moment).
2. The life style would be attractive, if we could support that with the extra cash needed to make them want to come all this way.
3. Development - can they get a better level of coaching or play here?
4. Exposure - can a player do an 'Ennis' and is it viable for them to come here from Euroleague and rack up the stats to impress an NBA coach?
I can't see that there is enough incentive for players considerdd good enough to be worth paying import money, unlike what is happening in the A-League for example.
That said, if a cashed-up Euroleague club or NBA club wanted to join forces with one of our NBL clubs like the Melbourne City-Manchester City partnership, well then all bets are off and a new era of hoops in Australia would be born...

Speaking to an agent recently, Australia is becoming a more attractive option to imports. You get paid (sounds silly but a real issue in small to mid sized countarys in Europe), lifestyle is similar to America, food, language are the same, you can post some decent numbers which is good on your resume and an easy transition from college to the pros.
