Doing rounds 5-10 for Juniors that play this week......

In the news items on SP, it says
" We are likely to get the Thursday night draws out by COB Monday "

We are looking into numerous requests by clubs for changes.

Promo/Relo fixes that in Summer??

^ If from BSA thanks for the acknowledgement - should be more of it...

Re Summer no summer Pro/Rel fixes nothing and really is a waste of time imo I think summer should be reduced dramatically to allow

A) kids to to rejuvinate
B) parents and coaches a break

you look at how much ability is lost just over the christmas break imagine if kids didnt play for the whole of summer SA would drop off considerably

Have a look around the country anon

Have a look at other sports

Last time I checked afl was played 6 months of the year doesn't seem to be an issue there

Problem is that the stronger states play ball all year round and div 1/2 district equiv all play domestic too. So if SA plays less they fall behind. If Vic Footy started playing all year round and we didn't join them, what would happen ??? It's basketball all around the world.....

it would be fair to assume -

if you are in a 6 team pool

1 game thurs
1 game fri
3 sat
finals sun - cross over and GF

5 team pool (less teams in pool delete 1 sat game)

1 fri
3 sat
finals sun - cross over and GF

4 team pool (with 3 or 4 pools)

1 fri
3 sat - with the last saturday a cross over final
finals sunday - another semi / cross over and GF

Just because you don't play doesn't mean you can't train - WE PLAY TO MUCH and don't allow enough fundamental practice.
Clubs could use a shorter draw to allow more inter club trialing working out the teams so you don't get teams pulling early winter..

It's a damn long year after summer 5 games into winter and I can't distinguish the end and the begin.. new players sign up at summer burned out by mid winter.

Numerous requests from clubs are probably from teams that feel that they were put in a lower division at the start of winter. Some teams have been killing it in the first 5 weeks so have requested to go up a division.

crystal ball, your ball is broken. Div 1 pools are 5 teams and always start on Thursday night, not Friday. remember because of the odd number of teams it takes 5 rounds, not 4 to play everybody.

it takes 4 round

1v2
1v3
1v4
1v5

= 4

but yes div 1 start thurs cause they are fully timed and only get ? saturday sometimes

5vbye

Oh dear. Crystal ball, it takes five rounds for each team to play each other with an odd number of teams! See the post above this if you don't understand.

Four teams would take three rounds.
Six teams would take five rounds.

But because of the odd number, five teams also takes five.

It's obviously not just your crystal ball that is not working.

Oh wow, you still don't get it do you?

THERE ARE FIVE ROUNDS. Doesn't matter how you look at it, there are five rounds.

Usually one Thursday, one Friday and three Saturday. No matter how you try and justify it, you are WRONG.

You said it would take four rounds starting on Friday. Only one team has a bye Thursday - everyone else is starting.

Just admit you made a mistake and move on.

It's only May and you've already won the dumbest post of the year award.

lol 'hypothetical' byes...
They are REAL byes! Unless one team is playing two games at the same time!

Pretty glad you aren't involved in programming anything!

crystal ball, you may wish to check Fox Sports Pulse. The draw is out and it is pretty clear that in five team pools, there are five rounds!
