I'm not seeing the value in which Burton is bringing to the Opals? She promises a lot but very rarely delivers anything of substance. Is certainly a j0yce favourite for sure!

Burton averaged 6pts & 4rbs a game for a side that finished last in the WNBL. Hardly flattering stats in a bad side & now is an Opal?

Could Burton's selection be due to the lack of other available talls? In the BA press-release gives a bit more information about availability for this tour:

*Due to the recently ratified new WNBA collective bargaining agreement, the Jayco Opals are not able to call upon any players with rights held by a WNBA team, meaning the likes of Erin Phillips, Penny Taylor, Rachel Jarry, Liz Cambage and Leilani Mitchell cannot participate in the tour.*

Add to that there is no Jackson who is recovering from injury, the withdrawals of O’Hea Batkovic and Bishop, there is an opportunity to give some new names a chance.

I'd say she is just being exposed to the Opals for this overseas trip mostly due to unavailability of other talls.

At the same time something like this can give you that inspiration/motivation when they come back home to go even harder.
