Travel to Game 3

Anyone keen to try and make it to game 3?

Are there any viable travel options?

Flights are pricey unfortunately, so gonna put a few off.
Any tickets reserved for sixers fans/members?

Yeah, I imagine flight prices will be crazy.

Checking with Sixers FB to see if there's any remotely viable option to fly over.

Keen as - not fussed re: cost.

Loco, there are tickets with Virgin Australia available for tomorrow's afternoon flight. Cost 889 one way. Only 4 seats left though get in quick.

I'll jump on Webjet now and see what's the best bet. Reckon it'll be steep as hell.

Situation - Not sure if serious... but if so, much respect.

Also, for the record, was chatting with a STUPIDLY hot Perth fan tonight in the line up to the bar behind the South stand. Tall, thin, blonde hair, green eyes.. yada. Any other night... would have thought about it. Mate walks up, looks her up and down as she's in the Wildcats red, hand on my shoulder "Don't give in to the dark side".

Turned her down.

Talked to Skye from Sixers at the game and she was on the phone to the Wildcats about a block of seats for Sixers fans. She said she would Facebook when she got an answer from the Cats...… Take a risk on waiting for that call or go with Ticketek WA and infiltrate !!!!!

I think some real forward thinking was required for this.
I booked my flights to Perth the day we finished off Melbourne for $545 return.......had to take a punt at those prices!
I emailed the club and asked about supporters trips, ticket allocations, etc.... but heard nothing back which was disappointing.
When I saw the tickets went on sale at 8pm Perth time last night I jumped on it.
$150 to be 3 rows from the front but no hesitation when it's been 12 years between drinks.

The Situation

Funnily enough, it will be twelve years between drinks when you try and buy a beer at the Perth Arena too!

More like it's taken me 12 years to save...... In order to buy a drink in Perth

Reply #469354 | Report this post

The Situation
Years ago

That is true as well. A few weeks ago, they halved the cup size at the arena for buying spirits but kept the price the same. It was like drinking out of a thimble. Their justification was that the spirit pour was still the same - ok, fine, but I still want a bit of bang for my buck.

They've since reverted back to a normal cup size.

Has anyone checked out if it is cheaper to fly to another capital city and then into Perth. Sounds crazy but pricing is linked to demand. Maybe out of Melbourne or Alice Springs!!

All away clubs get a block of tickets allocated, and that block is very large at Perth Arena. The only question would be whether the 36ers can get it all sorted with fans who want one of those tickets, given the fact it's a weekend and there's only 1 day to do it.
Sounds like it's definitely the flights that are going to be the major drama.
Hope to see a few 6ers fans amongst the sea of red tomorrow.

@Poker, you are probably right, Perth will win game 3 however it is still worth while to go over and support the team.

@Dunkin' Dan that section is right at the back in an alcohol free zone. That is pretty unfair.

Dunkin' Dan

I don't know about unfair. Being guaranteed a heap of seats is a good deal considering how much demand there is in Perth for tickets.
But I have to admit that the seats we had last night - right behind the Cats bench - were really good. Certainly better than I was expecting.
I would be pretty cool if that equivalent location in every venue was where the reserved block was.
In Perth's case, being so far away and therefore having so few away fans using the away team allocation, it's a big ask for the Cats to do that with some of the most primo seats in the arena.

Adelaide gave an allocation in a front block yet Perth reciprocate with somewhere at the back. Not fair.

Reply #469400 | Report this post

The Situation

So Perth should move their members who have been sitting behind the opposition bench all season just so some Adelaide supporters can sit there? Yes, that's completely fair.

Not all members renew during finals.

Reply #469406 | Report this post

Dunkin' Dan

Not all, but I'm guessing 95%+ do
Fans sparsely scattered through unclaimed member seats is not practical. Firstly it makes much more sense for everyone to be together, and secondly it relies on waiting until after member sales have concluded before the away team even knows how numbers & locations of seats.
Pre-defined block is the only practical way to do it

Perth Supporters had great seats behind the Cats Bench last night because despite popular belief amongst wildcats fans that Adelaide fans are not nice, they are fair..... Members moved out of seats to accommodate this.. Will Sixers fans get the same ????? I amazingly when I walked in with my family of 2 you young kids smiled and said hello to some Wildcats lady fans and heard them say, They are all being really nice to us !!! No surprise for us Sixers fans, welcoming people to our beautiful city…….

hats off to 36'ers for great position seats for the Cats' supporters. Altho I bet they weren't cheap, at least they were available to buy.
And, remember when Virgin was our budget airline?
Now it's Jetstar, who cancels flights quite regularly.
Booked cheaper Qantas fares than Virgin when I went to NBL games this season. That's something!!
