Fox Sports Pulse question about results

This is not meant to be a whinge or a BSA bash, because we've seen plenty of those and they are really not helpful. Rather this is an honest question.

How is it that with the technology available we can get to Tuesday and still some of the results form Friday are not up? Surely in this day and age someone at each stadium could upload scores as soon as games are completed or at the end of the night's games. It would be a five minute job I would have thought! Is there a reason we need to wait so long for some stadiums? The Vics have it in order, their scores are always there!

Very low (yet appropriate) pay, very low accountability.

I agree. Again this isn't a BSA bashing, just a suggestion on how they could possibly be more effelicient. Instead if getting the stadiums to fax through the score sheets, they could each have a sporting pulse login and upload them on the night. I guess the only problem there is if a stadium (who is effectively working as a contractor to BSA in this scenario) enters wrong details BSA could end up with an eff on theire face. Still I think it's worth a go. On top of the results being available immediately, it would ether A take someone off the BSA payroll reducing expenses, or B allow them to use human resources in other areas (like scheduling which there was an issue with for example). This of course is only for stadiums that don't use the lap tops that do upload them automatically (props to BSA on that one). I don't know, maybe the plan is to use them for all the stadiums in the future not just BSA managed stadiums. If so well done, if not maybe they should look at this idea.

Yes agree some scores were up on the Friday (first time) but if all were up it would be good. Also another easy thing that could be done is when you buy a ticket for the game, You get a red ticket for the player and then have to collect them all back up and give them back. Why not BSA put the player ticket direct into a marked bag for that team. (just write the players number on the back) It would save umpires chasing tickets at 1/2 time also lost tickets etc and time.

not all stadiums have on line access - also some door keepers (who record the results) are not IT savvy

perplexed, exactly my point. This is 2014. A laptop and internet access isn't too much to ask is it? And how IT savvy would one have to be to upload a few game scores? It would take about five minutes tops to train someone to do it!

LOL - you're "reduced costs" reasoning is losing steam every sentence. Paying for computers, internet, training...

^ what they said!

Improved service decreases drop out rates.

And would mean BSA office can do a better job than they are currently doing.

Could people enter scores and then the data is approved by BSA?

What data is going up? Full info or just scoreline?

If the latter, it would be easy enough to do over 3G on a phone.

I'm surprised someone hasn't tried to build something (even temporary) themselves that allowed score submission and built trust for score contributors and blocked those that submitted fake scores.

It's just scorelines Isaac, no other data or anything. How hard could it be?
