Do Wollongong have the split over Sydney? There is a good change Sydney can win this game tonight and Wollongong can lose in Perth tomorrow. This would give both Sydney and Wollongong an equal number of wins and losses yet Sydney have already conceded defeat.

Anyone know how this crocs team stacks up historically in terms of wins for a wooden spooner?

Yes. 4-0.

Hawks had split over Sydney so wouldn't have mattered if Syd won. Not sure of record for wooden spoon wins but 10 wins by the crocs is a credible effort...

It's the equal best wooden spoon performance with Adelaide in 2010 at 36% winning percentage. From memory the 36ers were something like 9-10 that season and crashed badly from there.
Kings end up 6th on the ladder.
Hahaha what a collapse by them matched by the awesome Hawks run.
Wellington must be really questioning their appointment now.
NBL historians is this the worst choke ever in terms of being in a playoff position and pissing it away? I would say so.
Likewise Hawks comeback from being bottom of the ladder, getting up to 5th then returning to the bottom of the ladder and then going on an insane run must be a record also. Although from memory Tigers one season in the 90s with Gaze were poor early and made up huge ground.
Kings though must have a new record for letting a playoff spot go. Unbelievable.

Kings have more "not nbl level" players than any other team in the league by my count. They finished as expected. No shame in their record imo.

Kings had to start from scratch four different times. Give today's team a full pre-season, you'd see a very different outcome.
Not quite sure on that since Heal is a bad coach and not a good person to get along with. It wasn't that the team wasn't gelling it was that they were over Heal.

It really doesn't matter who coaches Sydney next year. Whoever it is will be an upgrade over Heal.
Steven true apart from maybe that Ian Robilliard who coached last? lol
Oh yeah Marty Clarke also in the Hall of Shame.

Kings performance tonight reflected their season: they showed some promise then fell apart
Only the 2nd ever wooden spoon for the Crocs 93 and now 14. Doesn't seem like a wooden spoon kinda season.

"It wasn't that the team wasn't gelling it was that they were over Heal."
Explain their run prior to Carmouche's departure, then.
Are you serious? Wow short term memory at its finest.
Kings went 0-4 in December and early January and went 41 days straight without a win!
Let's see yep Carmouche was there during that bad run.
After that they went on a run of 4-0 (wow what a run!) as they played Cairns who were choking left right and centre, Adelaide twice who they match up with the best and Melbourne who are a mixed bag. Hardly much of a run. If that's a run how about the losing run beforehand mentioned above with Carmouche.
So you make a point Carmouche was part of a 4-0 run (wow ok) yet how about before that time when they went 0-4 which lasted the whole of December and up until the second week of January.
Also as mentioned by many above including paul, etc. you could see in timeouts the players didn't want to be there. You clearly weren't watching the timeouts. That doesn't mean you go 0 in the wins column for a coach you don't like but it does have a long lasting effect which is evident in their 1-7 RUN to end the season.
oh and before Carmouche left Kings went on a 1-2 RUN! There's that magic world run. SO if you want to ignore players not believing in Heal how is 1-2 gelling once the opponents didn't suit the Kings any longer (Breakers, Hawks).
Crocs had some impressive road wins this year! 3 on second leg of double header plus tonight. Pity they had some feeble home losses.
Kings just all over the place. Young is brilliant but disruptive. Heal was dear in headlights this weekend vs Hawks & Crocs. Madgen can be top 3 in league when not acting like a petulant b!tch. Onwards & upwards kings!!
Kings poor runs coincided with import changes, it's pure and simple and predictable. It's not saying anyone is a good coach or bad coach or anything about the players, simply that when an unsettled team plays a settled team they will usually lose.

I can understand the problems Heal has had to deal with
I know he selected the imports, but its still a hit and miss process.
Carmouche wasn't up to this level.
Sanders wasn't either.
People overhyped Sanders on here. Fact was he couldn't shoot and opposing teams just packed the lane on him. He was IMO no more effective than what a Cadee type player would do if he were to get those type of mins.

"Kings went 0-4 in December and early January and went 41 days straight without a win!"
Straight after they replaced Sanders, you mean?
"After that they went on a run of 4-0"
So what you're saying is that the team improved once they'd spent some time with a steady lineup? I'm shocked!
My point wasn't about the wins coinciding with Carmouche being there, it was about them coinciding with the lineup being steady and stopping as soon as they replaced another player.
