Saw on the interbasket forums that most people are ranking Australia 12th or lower in the Fiba World cup power rankings and NZ 20th or lower!!
Shows how ignorant people are about the strength of the sport in our part of the world..

Agreed the Boomers did well vs team USA at the olympics
and NZ do quite well compared to countries like china with unlimited resources , more players then americas population , more money to throw at coaches

We have to prove them wrong on the world stage then, don't we? Could be worse, our soccer buddies are being laughed at regarding their chances in the world cup, aahhh well, we will see won't we...
Looking at those rankings, it's more like Greece and Serbia are being hugely disrespected, considering the level of players they have.
