NBL fines Anstey for ref criticism, bad language

The National Basketball League (NBL) won't say how much it has fined Melbourne Tigers coach Chris Anstey for criticising match officials after a recent loss.

He was found guilty of using offensive language and publicly criticising umpires by the NBL after an investigation into the January 19 match against the Sydney Kings.
Full story

Fine not disclosed by the NBL and much of it suspended until after the season.

Whatever he was fined, it paid off for him against Perth. Hopefully Marvin's comments this week will do the same for the Wildcats this round

JUST for those of you who have asked about the NBL penalties for Chris Anstey.

My (e)mail is the Tigers coach was fined a total of $2,200 for his various alleged indiscretions, with $1,000 of that suspended.

I hear a whisper too Chris will be charging the NBL $1,200 for next week's next nbl.com.au column.

Former Tigers guard Daryl Corletto is being sought for his opinion on whether this is some sort of anti-Tiger conspiracy.

Dante's Peak - 5/10.

I guess any time he hits more than two or three 3 pointers, it will be "Dante's Inferno"

Anstey is the most over rated coaches out there, Dmac will take over sooner or later.

I think the ladder is doing a pretty good job of rating Anstey as a Coach. Talk about keyboard warriors!
