Was an awesome effort to watch. Could make a run at scoring title like last year but as a Knicks fan I just want them to make playoffs

Woodson tried to bench Melo earlier but players refused to sub in as everyone but the coach was aware of the record. Really should have left him out there to try and get to 81. Woodson is an idiot.

I agree - coach should have left him out there to see what he could have achieved. I though Kidd-Gilcest was a decent NBA defender?

Jake, Kidd-Gilchrist is an excellent on-ball defender. What are you supposed to do? Crowd him and foul out in two minutes when he burns you on a first step or let him take a contested jumper? It's unbelievable how quickly Anthony gets that shot off too.

Granted he could've done more work before the catch on some of them and made a couple of bad reads while guarding Anthony, but a lot of Anthony's mid-range catches (on the scoring plays at least) were against Tolliver.

MKG actually did an admirable job.

why can't Carmelo score 60+ points every night?? The team is clearly set up for him to have the green light to shoot and never pass so while it's still very impressive to score 62 points on 35 field goal attempts its not that surprising when you are
a) natural scorer, b) a ball hog and c) are on a team that is designed around you

He's being playing the 3 spot. Now Bargnani is injured he's back to the power forward spot and the offense is now more focused on him and the match up problems he creates (like it was last year when they won 50 plus games)

No way should have Woodson left Melo to get 81pts! Surely the game's not about Melo getting his scoring records? That's the problem with the Knicks everything is geared for Melo to get his! No wonder their win/loss record is a joke this season. How about Melo develop his game to the level of James & Durant and actually start locking in at the Defensive End whilst also increasing his Assists levels?

I would've left him out there. It creates a buzz around the team, generates a lot of positive talk and excitement in the locker room and in the media as opposed to all the negativity that they've endured over the season. The fans would've loved to have him chase down Kobe's 81. Sacrifice all that for what? 6 minutes on the bench? Come on Woodson. I know you don't want an injury but for a team who is headed for the lottery, surely its worth the risk!
