Should the Lakers keep Mike D'Antoni?

As a keen, and loyal LA Lakers fan, I see a lot of stupid people calling for the departure of current head coach Mike D'Antoni in favour of some like the retired and never to be see again Phil Jackson.

What's everyone's thoughts on Mike D'Antoni and the current coaching situation in LA???

He's doing a great job with an under talented team...
They play a nice style... he seems to be getting a lot out of not much.
There is no way, no way Phil would come back to the current roster at all. If they sign some good players/ make some trades etc and get a NBA championship quality team, maybe then they make a change. At the moment its a complete waste of time. If they make the playoffs, he has overachieved...

I personally do not like D'Antoni as a coach at all. He coaches a brand of basketball that simply doesn't win championships. He's done a good job this season and can help under talented teams overachieve, I guess you could say. But he hasn't had much success with talented teams (see the lakers of last year and the Knicks the year before).

Should he be sacked right now though? No.

D'Antoni is doing a good job for what he has to work with , but the blame lies with the GM for putting together such a lineup. For such a storied franchise, they have such a B and C grade lineup. yes they have injuries to some players but the GM has done such a poor job putting together a lineup of good players, fans want to watch or have come to expect from the Lakers. You know the lakers are boring to watch when the Sacremento Kings have a better lineup.

I would fire him immediately & put Rambis in as an interim for the remainder of the year. D'Antoni's 8 second or less offense is horrible to watch & his lack of team commitment to defense is disgraceful. This Lakers team is going nowhere this year so move D'Antoni on ASAP. IMO he was the worst selection of coach for this team & should have stay out of the league!

Laker roster is bad. No coach cold get much out of this team night in night out. No point sacking a coach you're already paying, when no other coach no matter how good could turn this roster into much more...

No. The lakers arent playing for wins this year. Dantoni is the perfect coach for that.

They signed him for 4yrs starting 2012/13, last yr a team option. Realistically Lakers will not win anything until Kirby has retired. Not saying he's not a great player but his volume shooting does not win the modern NBA game.
