VIP no longer jersey sponsor of 36ers

Noticed they are no longer on the 36ers Jerseys. Very short lived that was.

Yeah seems really strange, thought it would have been for whole seasons. Wonder what the story is behind it.

They only signed on for half a season, not the full season.

Personally, I think they're crazy not to have their logo on the Sixers. It's great exposure if you can get it/afford it.

It would be nice if there was a juicy gossip reason, but sadly not

Were they a major sponsor, or just a jersey sponsor? Seems bizarre if they were a major sponsor and only commit to half a season.

Tigers did a couple of different jersey sponsors last season FWIW.

$10-20k for half a season?

That's a bargain!

Wildcats Alcohol Think Again sponsorship is worth $1.5 million over 3 seasons.

To sponsor a player for most teams is around 7k for a full season. So i'm just guessing 10-20k for half a season for a jersey sponsor.. Could be more?

How do these things work?

Does the team simply 'peel off' the logo or do they have to issue a whole new set of jerseys?

Depends how well they thought it out, probably. When unleash went under last season, they just stuck something over the top of it. The Wildcats did the same for their grand final games in New Zealand when they had to cover up the Player logo due to NZ's gambling laws.

Melbourne had stick-on Basketball Victoria logos in their first game, although there wasn't anything under them, so the Crema jerseys would presumably have to be a new set anyway.

If Nat wants to come on here and guess that's his right like everyone else.

Camby, they often put tape over the logos and it looks a bit stupid as a result. Wonder why they don't get new ones made up and auction the previous ones as "mid-season, game-worn" prizes or something?

Anon, Nat acknowledged that it was a guess. If you have a figure you believe is more accurate, then post away.

You wouldnt make up uniforms with their logo showing for not even half a season. I am tipping they (VIP) didnt cough up the $$ and was only paid up until 31/12/2013.

I think that was Jack's diplomatic way of explaining the situation.

Press release said one year:

The Adelaide 36ers have secured a new partner on the eve of the 2013/14 NBL season in VIP Home Services.

VIP Home Services are a proudly South Australian owned company and the one year partnership will include the VIP logo branded across the front of the 36ers home and away jerseys.
