A well written article putting the NBL's expansion plans into perspective.

^ Yeah... except when he's trying to convince the Tigers to poach Nick Marvin, wasn't so much of a fan of that one.

I don't know if it said much of consequence though? Bit too general, like Greer's column. Raised Singapore, when new CEO is speaking of Australasian teams. Discounts 16 teams but notes that getting to 11-12 in a year or two wouldn't be outrageous (and that 10 could even be likely). And concedes that it might just be a carrot for investment. Five years will be 2018/19. TV will be greatly changed, for one thing, so who knows what's realistic.
Think I'd rather read more concentrated consideration of things like talent level, how that could be solved, etc. I can see us supporting 10 teams or 12 with a third import at least.

I think a move to 10 and then to 12 teams is realistic but unless the league and support jumps 30-40% over the next 4-5 of years that should probably be the cap for the time being.

Cheers for the nice words guys. We're experimenting with two NBL columns per week at The Roar right now and if they're well received that'll be a permanent thing (ie, more coverage for the NBL!) so any sharing is really appreciated.
West Sydney Razorbacks, club probably would still be around if they didn't make that ridiculous mistake changing to Sydney Spirit
The A-league shows that people from western Sydney gets behind there team, good expansion option
