Who has been following the Melbourne Boomer's so far? Amazing comebacks against Logan and Townsville. Surprised a few people. Guy Molloy is an outstanding coach and is totally different to Tom Maher. Interesting.

poppens is excellent and will be the surprise import.
has great work rate. If she was 8-10cm taller would be in awesome category.
you dont get cut by a wnba team at the last minute if you cant play.
I was at Sunday's game V Townsville. Poppens is far from excellent, yes works hard but certainly not one of the best imports in the WNBL this year!

Agree Poppens didn't have her best game against Townsville but had a cracker against Logan. Maybe Batcovic elbow to the face early in the game had an impact. Sounds like her elbows were flying and mouthing off at the refs. Must have been frustrated at the scoreboard pressure. Or not being able to stop Magden!
I expect the re-match of the Fire & Boomers to be quite feisty in Melbourne of Friday night. Ex-Fire player from last year (Romeo) appeared to celebrate very loudly & in close proximity to the Fire players post game. There appeared to be some words spoken between Fire players directly to Romeo. With Jarry expecting to suit for Boomers it could be on!

Particularly good start to the season, undefeated in the pre-season shield, defeated the recent visiting Chinese team, 3 - 0 for the regular season. Still waiting RJ to come back to the squad and the average age is 22!!!
Seem to have good coaching in Guy Molloy – thought "relax and enjoy the game" was classic intelligent coaching rather than ranting. IMO Melbourne could do a lot better than some people have been predicting.
