WTF is the Waverley Summer Super League?
Is this section 1 at Waverley basketball stadium?
Its a huge con job simply used by a few so called coaches to make money of unsuspecting kids and parents.

It's a massive competition where kids get drafted and put through a athletic combine in order to get exposure/experience against all levels and ages. The coaches they have there are really good IE Darryl Dmac McDonald and Sedale Threatt Snr and Jnr!

The bottom line is that the kids love it and there are 12 teams (120 players) competing every Saturday for 7 weeks, 2 games each night, in a run and gun competition. There were a large number of kids who didn't make a team so it is a popular concept with the target audience. The website to see all about is is www.superleaguebasketball.com.au
Remember that they are juniors, so please respect the Forum rules about not flaming or naming Juniors
Games are streamed live from court 1 at 8.00 pm each week at www.mindit.biz/superleague or www.mindittv.net
In terms of money making. It works out that the kids pay around $20.00 per game which includes court hire, ref feee, stadium entry, uniforms, training, coach payments, video of games on all courts, live streaming of main court games, access to coaches like Al Westover, nate Croswell, Stephen Hoare, DMac....pretty good value for money most would say!
How about you come and look anon and see the enthusiasm of the parents and the kids before you decide on the merits of the event! Happy to meet you there and have a chat.

Great concept and initiative by those behind it. Went to a few games last year and was enjoyable to watch. The structure isn't there like rep ball and players get fairly equal court time throughout the games unless it is down the stretch. It really show cases the talent and athleticism of young juniors with that free flowing game. The refs let a lot go to make players take it stronger to the rack and protect the ball etc. Can't wait to see the highlights this year as when I went last year, there were some massive throw downs and posters!
Better to have them playing hoops than robbing the local 7/11.

Just went to the Superleague All Star game.
This must be the best 'presented' and professionally ran juniors basketball league there is in this country.
I've been following their weekly highlights and recap which are very well presented unlike anything out there. Just tonight the amount of 'walking legends' I saw tonight was incredible. It's amazing how a domestic basketball league can boast over 100 years of professional basketball experience among the coaches.
The game was so free flowing that makes it actually enjoyable to watch and regardless of the 'tougher' style of basketball they seems to endorse, there were actually more dunks than you'll see than any other junior basketball games. In fact, I'm pretty sure there were more dunks tonight than most NBL games.
Overall a very entertaining night and everyone in the crowd seems to have thoroughly enjoyed the night like myself, will be looking to keep an eye out on this league in future.
