Why is SBC not being used for VJBL finals?

Does anyone know why SBC is not being used for VJBL finals?

BV will say it's too expensive. Reality is they thought they should get it for nothing. BV forget Knox is the anchor tenant and they have to repay Knox Council for loan to finance their part of the project.

Has turned political and this is BV's way of sticking it up Knox. Lot's of bad blood between the parties. And new CEOwill not iimprove the relationship.

Does anyone know what Knox normally charges for entry for SEABL matches and why they decided to have free entry for the games last Saturday?

Stadium was no more than half-full - but I would say that majority would have been willing to pay a gold coin donation for entry.
If Knox is in financial trouble as has been reported - surely free entry to games isn't the smartest option.

It was volunteer appreciation night, the last game for two of their players, and a celebration for 300 game veteran Sean Carroll. I think the atmosphere was great and if free entry helped promote that and get more people through the door, fantastic.

If free entry gets the people through the doors it's a great idea. You can then make some money through the bar/canteen/merch etc.

Sad to hear about bad blood between BV and Knox.
It's a shame they if they are at loggerheads and the beautiful stadium does not get used for VJBL finals and other major events! What is the problem between BV and Knox?

Didnt BV move out of MSAC because venue hire was too expensive??!! Sounds like BV is run by accountants too.

BV and the other office tennants moved into the new venue as part of the overall deal to build it. The rent is cheaper for office space at SBC but the court hire is very high. Maybe they can use the extra cash to finish putting lighting in the carpark. Not what I would call a safe environment on a dark and late friday night.
