Common knowledge. Congrats to Marty. Well earned, shows that he has great character against adversity. Adelaide isn't a very good place to coach in tbh.

Role suits him better than NBL coaching.

Best thing you could do is take Clarke as far away from everything to do with that the actual 40 minutes being played and make him director of everything else. No where is good to play if you cant win, and Clarke is NOT a winner. Can teach the game though, so goodluck.

PS best thing he could do is cut ties with Radford.

He's not doing much coaching if he's Director of Basketball Operations - he's doing uniforms, travel schedules, admin, etc...

And those types of jobs usually pay pretty poorly -they are entry level jobs for young guys looking to work their way into the system out of Grad School.

Adelaide is a great palce to coach - Clarke had every opportunity to succeed in Adelaide and IMO did not learn from his mistakes and players lost confidence.

I wish him well in his new role

I believe one of his major roles will be recruiting. That would mean time in Australia at various Nationals etc scouting and recruiting Aussie talent.

He won't need to comeback to recruit. His kids are going with him.. Good luck and all the best to them.

Great opportunity for him. He has very good ties and respect with the SMC coaching staff. He also has a good reputation internationally.

I can only see this in helping Aussies end up at SMC or college in general.

If you know anything about the college system you would realise that in most colleges the assist do the initial recruiting. The HC only goes after the top picks. On game day his role will be one of STATS and the odd bit of advice but as he doesnt know the game or the players his input will be limited. At practice he MIGHT run a few drills but again he will be there to keep the tempo up and help run stuff as directed by the HC. He may be in charge of film breakdowns and he will certainly be required to scout other teams and provide scouting packs.
Its a new world for him and he could do very well in the college system BUT he is tied to Randy Bennet, when he goes so will the assistants.
