Got a few NBLers in the Orlando Summer League

Cedric Jackson - Miami Heat
Michael Dunigan - Miami Heat
Johnny Flynn - Indiana Pacers
Brock Motum - Philadelphia 76ers

Delly has signed with Cleveland but they are not playing in this league.

Tom Abercrombie also signed with the Suns but not in this league.

Brock Motum will be blogging about his experiences on ATF. First one should come up tomorrow or Monday.

Anyone think any of these guys have a shot at a NBA contract?

Jackson needs a jumpshot and to hit his freethrows consistently to get a contract imo.
Hopefully we see him back in the NBL.

Just saw that brock got 6 points on perfect shooting in 7 minutes in todays game! Can only do good things for his stock with that outing

Everyone jump of the Brock motum to nba bandwagon because he simply won't ever make it.. He would be a good/solid nbl player not a gun at all. He looked timid playing this morning and has zero athleticism comparing him to other 7ft white guys in the summer league which you need to have these days.

Johnny Flynn played in the same game and his ball handling was so sloppy almost got pick pocketed twice in his limit minutes and tried forcing things way too much. He had one nice ally oop to plumlee who is a BEAST!

Putting one together - but it will not be complete until recruiting ends. i.e. Exum may in fact choose to attend college still...there are plenty more guys to sign to teams just yet!

Excuse my ignorance.... But what does the NBA Summer League mean? Is this a try out for guys in these teams with the hope to get a contract??

So for guys like Dellavadova and Abercrombie.... The are signed to play in the Summer League Comp, and hope to prove there worth to get a contract???

Please explain!

It's probably not even as good a situation as proving your worth to get a contract.

In Delly's case, he is trying to impress the Cavs enough to obtain an invitiation to 'try-out' for their training camp roster. So he's a long way from a contract;

1) Summer League
2) Try-out for training camp roster
3) Go to training camp
4) Make the final 15-man roster

Dunigan had 7p, 7r, 3a and 3b in that game too.
Adams had 11p and 6r in 32mins for OKC in their game.
Flynn had 3a in 12mins for Indiana.
