Round 14 BigV (Warning HO- Games Advertised! :-))

Four great games at Waverley this weekend. If you can't make it to the stadium, watch the games online at http://www.mindittv.net/wba

VYCW Waverley vs. Bendigo Sat. 29/06 6.30pm AEST (08:30:00 UTC) @ Waverley Basketball Centre
Time in your part of the world: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldcloc...29T1830&p1=152

The Falcons have been way more competitive since installing Georgia Stirton and Taylor Dickinson into their line-ups upon their return from college. Although it’s too late for finals, much like Hume City, they can stuff up other people’s finals chances. The Braves have been surging and that peaked when they knocked off the previously undefeated Rangers last week at home. They are charging towards a top four spot and not a second too late. They sit one win out of finals and are breathing down Kilsyth’s neck.
The Falcon’s girls will be desperate for the win at home to show that their development program is still on track, whilst for Bendigo this is a must win game. It promises to be an enthralling contest.

VYCM Waverley vs. Hawthorn Sat. 29/06 8.30pm AEST (10:30:00 UTC) @ Waverley Basketball Stadium
Time in your part of the world: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldcloc...29T2030&p1=240

After seeing off another couple of challengers last week, the Falcons boys will be ready for the next in line. All of Waverley’s sheer talent was on show against the Cobras and the Rush in round 13 with a stunning performance from Matthew McCarthy but Hawthorn has had a habit of taking it right up to the Falcons for the last two seasons. Watch out for the battle between two of the stars of the competition- Ben Waldron and Deng Adel, both of who are vying for the league MVP title.

SCW Waverley vs. Melbourne Sun 30/06 12:30pm AEST (02:30:00 UTC) @ Waverley Basketball Stadium
Time in your part of the world: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldcloc...30T1230&p1=240

The Falcons women finally have some breathing space in fourth place, albeit just a small gap, which means the only item on their agenda, is to keep winning. They come up against a Melbourne team that really is a mystery from week to The Tigers haven’t had a great season, but if the Tigers can push Waverley all the way and work hard to limit Dombkins and Ardossi, perhaps an upset could be on the cards
The Falcons can’t afford to take this one lightly

SCM Waverley vs. Hume City Sun 30/06 2:30pm AEST (04:30:00 UTC) @ Waverley Basketball Stadium
Time in your part of the world: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldcloc...30T1430&p1=240

Waverley made a big step forward last week with a narrow win over DV giving the Falcons a box seat in the top four, but of course they need to keep winning. For Hume City, finally we saw some real fight last week and they went extremely close to grabbing an upset win. Though there is always talk about Maybank and Brown when looking at the Broncos, the likes of Bogart-King and Prendergast were up and about last week and both players need to keep that going in this tough contest.
It’s hard to see this one getting past the Falcons combination of Threatt, Kelleher, Boyle, Arkell, Platenik and the rest of the deep bench however.

The problem FTV is that you are just a spruiker, perhaps a spammer Isaac?

Just name your thread appropriately, because its not about BigV Round 14, its about BigV Round fourteen for games to be played at Waverley. You can't own the BigV thread every week when all you are doing is talking about your ITV product.

Sting what?

Clubs get bashed for not promoting themselves and the incentive that the Falcons have put in place is great. If I followed the Falcons I would watch their games. This is something for other clubs to look at in the near future to help reach their fans who can't always attend their games.

The biggest game this round is Stingrays v Boomers. Getting promoted as game of the season. Not sure if history will repeat itself in a double overtime. Hopefully the Stingrays can keep their undefeated record at home. This is the biggest test.

It is going to be a massive crowd with the Stingrays officials promoting a must see of Ben Simmons as well as the 1st v 2nd match up. Personally I can't wait to see Ben Simmons and it will be great to say I witnessed him play before he made it in the NBA (fingers crossed he makes it).

Is he the biggest junior prospect ever in Australian Basketball? Bogut was #1 pick but it wasn't until the u/19 world championships and a fantastic college career he started to get recognition. I am too young to remember but was there ever talk of Gaze being drafted in the NBA? I know Dante Exum is in the same boat as Simmons as being a NBA prospect.

The future looks great with Australian juniors, hopefully this boosts the NBL and the Boomers chances of getting a medal at WC and Olympic campaigns.

Sting What, all I want FTV to do is name is threads relevant to what they are about. FTV only talks Waverley livestreaming, reproduces the BigV previews and off he/she goes. He/she doesn't come back with insight or add to the discussion. Just respect the forum.

Perhaps he/she should pay Isaac for advertising? Others do!

I actually agree with HO on this, all good to promote your own Association and the Waverley product is a great initiative that others could follow.

But, please use some common sense here and a little respect...

Big V Round... (Falcons TV)

Not too hard is it?

Anyone check out the huge game between Corio Bay and Bulleen? Sounds like it was a great game with 1 point in favour of Bulleen. Looks like Simmons had a quiet game. What was the crowd like?

Unfortunately I couldn't get to any games this weekend but live stats indicates a frantic end to the game, possibly some drama with a 3 pointer near full time putting Bulleen ahead and some big blocks preventing Corio Bay from getting up...

Would love someone who was there to give a review, Simmons did have an impact on the result right near the end by the looks of it though.

One of the refs who was there said that the Corio/Bullen game was one of the best games he had been involved in this year and he also refs SEABL.

The Waverley teams had a very good weekend with wins to all teams. The standout of the weekend for me was the matchup between Ben Waldren and Deng Adel in the VYCM. Ben is all class and was unstoppable close to the ring. (check it out here: http://www.mindittv.net/cms1/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=35&Itemid=54)

In SCW Brigette Ardrossi was the same. It was obvious from the get go that she was there to play. For Melbourne I was really impressed with Courtney Gaze's game. Having seen a lot of her over the last years she is going to be an outstanding player into the future. The SCM game was good for the first half. Nuff said on that one.

Was a great game with plenty of momentum swings. Bulleen shot well from 3 during the game. Stingrays seemed to collapse and help out on the penetration by Bulleen which allowed the Boomers to get a better look at the 3 and to their credit they knocked it down especially Standerfer.

The crowd was electric, quite deafening towards the end. Stingrays had possession with 3.7 seconds to go in their front half but were unable to get a good look and score to win on the buzzer. Sturt blocked Williams shot.

It was well reffed compared to a lot of games I've seen this year. They let the players play instead of calling 60 plus fouls like in other games which doesn't showcase the players talents.

Ben Simmons had a quiet game offensively but was a presence in defence with some big blocks and rebounds (boy he gets above the rim for them).

Was a large crowd close to 600 or more than that. It is hard to determine as the grand stand is always filled and the standing bar area was packed too.

Stingrays also missing young players in Stefan Osborne (hamstring) and Michael Rebula (overseas) who contribute weekly. The top 4 will provide a fantastic finals series.
